I don't know if any of you saw the end of the SDSU-Arizona State game, but in it was the weirdest target foul/outcome I'd seen in a while. Arizona State was trying to tie the game and took a shot down to the 1 yard line. The safety CLEARLY and INTENTIONALLY targeted the WR. It was crown of the helmet to the jaw. During the replay to determine if it was targeting. (which Ray Charles could have seen in real time), they determined that the WR dropped the ball. (that call was iffy too). So they got the targeting, but instead of ASU having the ball at the 1 or 2 yard line with 6 seconds left, they were ut at midfield. It totally took the game away in one call. Herm was livid.
no he's okay. The hit shook him and he did bobble the ball. From the replay I saw, it was a catch. Still, it's just one of those weird things where we have a new rule and this looks like a really good way to exploit it.
Pass interference in college would have been better choice... There would have been a 1st down from the previous spot, but not a TD or a 1st down inside the 5. It seems like in that case at least PI would have been called, that frequently is the case PI + Targeting. But they didn't call him for PI?
T - the issue was the lack of time left in the game, not the first down. The targeting was arguably intentional, weaponizing it to ensure the second to last play of the game didn't result in ASU's final play going for the win from the one or two yard line. Instead, ASU was "rewarded" with 15 yards for the PI/targeting penalty, backing them up to the 30/40 yard line.
Been livin' life Corey, trials skip nobody for long. Kid is awesome, just started school and he loves it; according to him he isnt learning anything, but he is okay with reviewing stuff he already knows. Howis your micro?
she's living large despite being all of 3'2" and 32lbs, thank you for asking. The boy is off to college. He just got invited to join an exclusive frat on campus, so there's more money out the window. We just moved to Hartselle, which is a town South of Decatur. Things are a bit rough at the moment, but they'll smooth out in the end. You think the Cougs are looking at another 10+ win season?
Check with me late friday. SOS to date has made everything look possible. USC may not be a great team, but they have a lot of talent, which will provide a great yardstick. After the offseason Wazzu had (hilinski, huge coach/coordinator turnover, graduations/departures, was just hoping for a bowl. Looks like that is the floor right now.
Did you lose your DC? He was fantastic. The Hilinski situation was a gut check for my family. I went to HS with his uncle, and my nephew-godson Brendan was very good friends with him. They held the memorial at my old HS. It's still tough for our whole community, let alone family. You still have the pirate!
Yep, grinch went to osu, replaced with claeys, ex-minn dc. The 2018 coug d isnt as afressive, but they seem just as stout so far, despite the losses (herc!). Also almost lost the oc/hc except that coaching search disaster spared us. I think 6 or 7 assistants also had to be replaced after being hired away. Ugh, looks like leach reloaded the coaching cabinet, tho.
You guys look good so far. USC's rush end, who was ejected against Texas, is really giving you guys problems. You guys gotta get more pressure on the HS QB and eventually he'll start throwing off his back foot. Looks like this may come down to the wire.
