Don't know, but I'm sure there is a rule in place for that, probably continuing play until there's a winner.
During the regular season it would be a tie, the Bengals/Redskins and the Seahawks/Cardinals played to ties this year. No way the Super Bowl or any playoff game ends in a tie.
Ralph, I was wondering the same thing. Does this mean after every 15-minute period they reset, with a new coin toss, kickoff, Team A and B? Or does it mean they just roll into each successive 15-minute period until someone scores? I'm guessing the former...?
I like the current NFL rule much better than the old rule where a FG on the first possession would win the game. But I really think that they need to go to the team kicking off is guaranteed a possession to tie/win the game if the other team either gets a FG or TD. Then after that true sudden death.
Not really releated to this topic....but today is the day that the Patriots go to the White House for their Super Bowl Champion visit. I wonder how many will go, Tom Brady won't be there. I would expect quite a few of the Black players will not attend. Last year Brock Osweiller did not attend because it conflicted with his new team (Texans) OTA's and he wanted to be with the new guys as much as possible. Not a political statement.
