    It's a shame that college sports that I enjoy so much has so many sleaze balls associated with the recruitment of players.

    They've always been there and they always will. People thought SMU was too harsh. I say they don't hand that out enough.

    In baseball it's difficult to recognize street agents when they first show up, because they're good at disguising themselves. The tipoff is usually when you discover that certain players are getting new equipment like bats and gloves that you know they can't afford. Then they're playing on summer ball or winter ball teams that are way out of town...where the local coaches can't keep an eye on them. When I was coaching American Legion Baseball, I almost took one of those guys on as an assistant coach, until some friendly coaches in my league told me who he was and what he was up to. These guys will try anything...
