According to sources, Stephens is the QB for tomorrow night's game. I tend to agree with some of the posters below the article that this is an attempt to save attendance figures as much as anything else. If Crompton had been named the starter today, there would be major insurrection amongst the UT faithful. We'll see how it goes and how long Stephens is actually left in. One thing's for sure about this season......things are getting interesting on Rocky Top.

Beat me to it. I was out changing our address with voter registration when the news came out.

My concern is that this is still a rumor. "Sources say" is not Fulmer saying. He promiced an announcement and I have not seen/heard that yet.

Just 5 minutes ago, at 6:03pm Eastern, the article that Aquila posted was changed to show that Fulmer has confirmed the fact that Nick will start.

    Fulmer also stated:
I would have liked that to have happened on the practice field before the UCLA game. I would have liked to have seen that from our coach!

Stephens looked head and shoulders above Compton. There were offensive problems that we still need to iron out. Dropped balls killed us all night. However, Stephens was dead on with his passing. I think we have found the man to be our QB. Another issue we had was Fulmer rotating in Jones to run the G-Gun offense several times. It never worked and only disrupted the rhythm of the normal offense.

Number 79, Chris Scott, the right offensive tackle should be running the stadium steps tomorrow. He wiffed twice and one of those wiffs caused Stephens to get blind sided while in his passing motion which resulted in a fumble. Credit the defense for holding on that 1st and goal that NIU had at our 8 yard line as a result of that fumble.
