Harbaugh goes for 2 late in the game with a 27 pt. lead. (So when they ask him why he did will he say "because they won't let me go for 3?) Wonder how this might effect recruiting out on the West Coast.
Stanford is an odd damned team. They hammer people at times. Then they just cash in and vanish for entire quarters. Harbaugh has been under Petey's skin since he took the job.. I guess I'm the only one who wasn't surprised that he went for 2 on them.
Very nice and obviously testy exchange between Harbaugh and Petey after the game......Harbaugh has definitely gotten to Petey and Petey don't like it.....
It looks like the Stanford band also added their 2 cents: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2009/11/15/SPM01AKL8P.DTL
Usually when the Stanford band puts their two cents worth into the conversation, it winds up costing them much more.
It could be coincidence but are SC's problems related to losing Sarkisian and Holt to UW? Successful head coaches usually begin to lose their luster after their senior staff members are hired away by other schools. Caroll lost Chow then his next OC Sarkisian and his DC Holt. I think one of JoPa's secrets to longevity is his stable staff for decades.
Just as Mack Brown's tenure became more solid when he got rid of his original DCoord and eventually found Chizik and Muschamp. Lou never was able to adequately replace Barry Alvarez, the one guy who had the best defenses turned out to be Brutus. So maybe Carroll turn over on his staff, combined with the Freshman QB and a young defense are slowing the USC express.
