I saw on another board that there are rumours that Miami has approached Spurrier about the job? Would that be a incredible twist of fate or what? Terry
i heard the same <r>don't know how true it is though. its just that time of year.<br/> <QUOTE><s> </e></QUOTE></r>
I just woke up and saw this on GatorCountry. If it's true I'm stunned. But of course I was stunned when he left Florida and also when he went to S. Carolina. Gator Bill
I was just going to post that article MCG. I still don't believe it, but then I didn't believe he would leave Florida. Gator Bill
I was shocked when he left Florida as well. Who knows what he might do? I think he saw the talent present at UF on offense and realized what he could do with that talent and that he might never accumulate that kind of personnel at SouCar. If that sounds like I am belittling Meyer's offense I am in comparison to what I think Spurrier could do with those same players. However, there is a great degree of toughness and tradition in the entire team that Meyer has instilled at UF and I like that. Wouldn't trade for Spurrier right now but it's close.
The bigger shock was when he took the SC job? What was he thinking? I bet he can't wait to get out of cola.
MCG, I think you will see a different offense in the future as Meyer gets all his own players in skill positions. I know that the matchup yesterday was terrible, but I hear that Tebow looked really sharp as did Mon Williams the freshman running back. Gator Bill
That was a glorified H/S team vs. UF yesterday Bill. On the other hand I see where SouCar blasted bowl team Middle Tenn St 52-7. Maybe SouCar isn't that bad.
MTSU was nothing more than a party looking for a place to happen back in the 80's. I should know, I attended a lot of them :!:  The movie animal house should have been filmed on frat row at MTSU.
I know that MCG, but still it gave the coaches a chance to look at our young players and a lot of people liked what they saw and Tebow can in fact throw the ball. Gator Bill
When Tebow starts lighting up the air next season with his 10,000 yard arm jerks like Mark May of ESPN will choke on their popcorn.
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/rankingsindex I doubt he goes to miami.. Schiano from Rutgers is probably the guy down their. But it would make perfect sense..if anyone could help revive that inept miami offence..who better than the old ball coach.
May has never had any respect for Florida and he has been on his knees for USC all year. He jokes weekly about Tebow's running the ball and seems to totally discount his ability to throw which means he doesn't know Tebow. I suspect May is an ESPN/ABC sellout and a network shill.
Sid, May has been down on Florida all year and talking up USC all year. I've pretty much decided that the ESPN announcers/talking heads have their marching orders to talk up the teams that ABC teleivises. I've been very disappointed all year with their partisonship starting with choosing Game Day at the start of the season to an ABC game even though there was a better game. I'm even more disappointed in Hebstreet, so I think my best bet is to just follow the Gators through the bowl game and ignore them as they are very annoying in my opinion. Gator Bill
I could see Spurrier trying his skills at Miami because there is opportunity to maybe win an NC and there is no real coaching "legend" to follow. Bama people are saying he could go there but why would a legend himself ever want to coach at Bear Bryant tainted Bama and have his reputation always held up for that comparison. No way he would go to Bama.
I saw post on another board that the Alabama BOT met yesterday and that Shula will be fired this week.
Aw, now what did Herby do to you? He should be disappointed in you!...as soon as he says something nice about Florida, y'all let him down and lose the next game! Herbstreit on Florida
