Interesting article. Our guy Barnett gets some great comments there. I remember when Marinovich and Brett Johnson were in HS, they got a lot of Publicity as recruits. Of course we all know what happened to Robo QB who actually had a good start to his college career but after growing up in a nutrition lab dictated by his dad couldn't stop smoking weed once he got away from pop. Johnson never lived up to the hype. So.Cal always has some great QB's.
It was a good article and this is a super year for QBs in SoCal, but I had a few disagreements. The author must be younger than myself, because he said that Rosen throws the greatest deep passes he's ever seen. Rosen is a special talent for sure and he is a fabulous deep threat, but nobody...and I mean NOBODY in SoCal HS football ever threw a better deep ball than Pat Haden when he was at Bishop Amat. He didn't just rewrite the record books in this state, he doubled and tripled them. BTW- I see that after all that malarkey about Rosen going to Stanford, he switched his commitment to UCLA... I've seen all of these kids on TV or in person and I still say that Barnett is the best of the bunch. I also rate both Rosen and Barnett higher than St. Bonaventure's Ricky Town, who is alleged to be the best player in the nation. I'm not buying that one and I think the Irish got the right guy... BTW-BTW... Ricky Town is going to USC. Let's see what we got here: Barnett- Notre Dame Rosen- UCLA Town- USC I see three trains headed for one track. This could be fun...
