Alabama has scored one offensive touchdown in two weeks and needs two blocked field goals to beat 3 - 4 Tennessee 12-10. Tennessee looked like the better team to me. Florida has made more mental errors than they should in a season, two Tebow interceptions go for touchdowns and the Gators escape with another ugly win 29 - 19. Texas is winning big but have also struggled some this year. How about ranking all three of them as tied for number 3 and not have a number one?
Terry, I'll go with a 1. Texas 2. Florida 3. Alabama 4. S. Cal Hey, all last week I was hearing what a complete team Alabama was, they were the one of the top 4 that deserved to lose today. All four of those teams have flaws.
MCG, USC would roll over your last three. If Iowa wins out I'll give them 4th, until then USC is ahead of them. Of course there is no fear the computer polls will keep USC out of the Championship game.
USC has given up 63 points in the last two games.....winning 42-36 yesterday. They have a loss. Hard to justify putting them at 4th right now. Wait a few weeks....put em in the Rose Bowl vs. Iowa and I'm sure they would roll like always.
USC defense has faced 2 excellent offenses, and Oregon State was sort of a trap game coming after a huge emotionally draining win vs ND. Right now I am not seeing any SEC offense that is much better than average. So if we are docking points because of the defense maybe you get to dock some points because of the poor SEC offenses. That Miss State defense was beaten handily by a CUSA opponent in Houston just a couple of weeks ago.
At this point I'd have to give Iowa the nod over Cincy...they dismantled a very good Penn State team on the road. We'll find out more about them when they visit Columbus in a couple weeks.....as for SC rolling over them, we'll have a pretty good read on that as well.
Yeah I think conventional wisdom would always give the B10 team the edge over the Big East team. Cincy will have to win a BCS bowl game before they get that respect.
Iowa is getting no love at all and they have earned much from me....they have gone into Happy Valley, Madison, East Lansing and come away with tough road wins, handled a very solid Arizona team and the Stripeheads for good measure.....their resume is probably superior to anybody at this point......the game in Columbus will be big.
The AP made their correction after Sat.'s games.....UF is back in the #1 saddle. None of it matters until the SECCG with regard to Fla-Bama though. I'm not entirely convinced that Bama will beat LSU however.
Issue at QB is a problem for Bama, fortuneately LSU seems to have equally bad QB play at least the few times I've seen them.
This weekend reminds me of why I hate super conferences. In recent years Miss State just gives Florida fits...but sadly, we don't get to see them play each year.
