I've worked the past six weeks working 6-7 days a week providing the only peach in North America (By the way we lost our butts again as the weather was much too warm, there's the possibility of actually breaking even this year). As I'm getting 30 people moving in the right direction and talking on the phone and ignoring three other calls I have NPR news on my truck radio who shockingly is talking about president Trump. The reporters entire conversation was about the current Trump poll from wherever and the guy says that the most unintelligent of the Trump followers is very upset at the moment with the president at the world events currently happening.

As I run my business and manage the group of folks working for me I'm thinking that I've listened to this public broadcast radio network for over 25 years and this representative is reporting that the most "unintelligent" of Trump supporters. I've never heard such bias op-ed before, it blows my mind. Even worse if I mention this to my brothers who I respect and love but may not agree with their politics I will be thrown to the wolves and degraded as a liar and in pursuit of a right wing agenda...

Meanwhile in the real world we fixed a sprayer, dealt with the mechanic not working this week and pondered how to pay back the $500,000 line of credit in two weeks as the NPR story blared over the truck radio...Life moves on...

And Sid I'm saddened that you have chosen not to participate in political discussion. I have learned much from your well thought commentary and am saddened with its loss.

I am much more volatile (At times ignorant and passionate) than some folks and have always appreciated your intelligent response...Your thoughts add to the betterment of all who read your opinion, we may not agree with it but we are better because of it....

You're kind Ralph. With those comments, you're my new best friend. :D

Truthfully, my friends here who have known me for a long time know that there are times when I get into a "conversation" that my mother's Irish blood heats up and I say things I later regret. As I've aged I've mellowed a bit. I don't want to go back to that guy. I've found that I can enjoy my friendships if I simply respect each person's beliefs and opinions even if I may not agree with some of them. Besides, to be perfectly candid, who really cares what I think? That's not false modesty. It's just a fact that tends to prevail in political conversations.

By the way, I respect what you do and how hard you work to feed people. It's guys like you who are and always have been the backbone of our society.
