now that we've all gone 'title game' in the major conferences and everyone has embraced the system.... What if Oregon wins out and takes the P12 title convincingly, but LSU stumbles badly in the last couple of weeks.. Is it possible that Oregon would play for the title and LSU not be in the game at all?
By stumbles I assume you mean lose. Considering who they play from here on out....to answer your question....they're out.
Corey, I think the answer to your question is yes. If you lose in September, you can recover more easily than if you lose in November. If Oregon wins out and LSU loses badly to Arkansas and plays badly in the SECCG then it could be Oklahoma State and Oregon. I'm not saying that it would happen but it could. Oh yeah, I am not "embracing" anything short of at least an 8 team playoff.
haha just curious. I was looking at this and wondering.. There is a very real chance that LSU could lose to Arky and force a 3 way tie for the West. Then what? We have 3 one loss teams, 2 of them beaten by LSU but LSU lost later in the season.. Also, when this LSU team loses, I don't know if it will be close. They may never lose, but we'll see. Oh God.. what if Georgia wins the SEC? Then we've already ruled out Boise because they lost at all...
Right, but if Georgia wins the SEC... that would have to rule out both Alabama and LSU, right? Could we really have a game in which the NC game is between the 2nd place and the division runner-up?
