do they have the best offense in the SEC or is this one of those weird years in which only a handful of teams in the SEC play defense while the others are national leaders in the subject?

Mallett looked awesome. Their defense was invisible though.

Didn't get to see it, but really wanted to.
I'd like to have an idea what the Aggies are up against when we play them in two weeks.

Sounds like it will be a score-fest if your report is on target.

I suspect Tenn will move the ball easily on Georgia if that tells you anything......

I watched some of it and Ryan Mallet looked extremely good, he's going to be a top NFL draft pick. He's got the size they love and the big arm. He leads the nation in passing efficiency right now.

    Terry, how is Mallet's mobility?

The Aggies finally have a little pass rush, but have struggled at times with containment on mobile QB's.
Is he the standard pocket passer, or does he move really well?

Scott from the little I saw he didn't look like a big stiff dropping back, seems to move well in the pocket. Doubt if he's much of a threat to run the ball if flushed.

    Scott,

Mallet is a true pocket passer, does not have a lot of speed and will not run often, unless absolutely necessary.

Typical Michigan QB under Lloyd Carr.

    Don,

You are right he fits the Carr/Mich QB mould perfectly.

    Yup,

Mallett was Carr's last prized 5 star recruit at QB before stepping down (he transferred when they hired DickRod). I was very impressed with him as a true freshman. He has this season and two others at Arkansas left. I suspect he's going to put up huge numbers on a lot of people.

The real question is... where did the Arkansas defense go?
