Dudes I don't even own a guitar anymore. Turns out, according to this article, it's always been about overcomming that walkon stigma. Excuse me while I go puke. Slick Rick Reborn Corey he's all yours now. ... good luck.
I hope UCLA is keeping an eye on him... cuz you know the folks at SC will be waiting for a slip to report to the NCAA gumshoes.
well <r><QUOTE><s> </e></QUOTE> I have no problem with this. I said this when he was at Colorado and at Washington... Its not that he is 100% clean, but for some reason a <B><s></s>HUGE<e></e></B> deal has been made of his secondary violations.<br/> <br/> There are much, much worse things that have taken place at places like Oklahoma under the watch of Stoops but people still hold him in high regard. The fact that St Bowden is still well thought of and regarded kindly by the talking heads still leaves me wondering about the agenda of some folks in the media.<br/> <br/> Rick was Terry's boy for the UCLA job and the pinkos running the school had gone a different route at every turn. They have finally run out of options. I am very happy about Rick at UCLA.</r>
Part of the reason might be Neuheisel's past statements that he took NCAA compliance to the very edge. I recall reading an interview in which he said, "I comply with the letter of the law, if not always the spirit". That stuck with me. I personally have no problem with the guy. I hope he runs a clean program at UCLA, and if he wins, good for him.
It is amazing how some get a pass by the media. Bob Stoops is still considered one of the top coaches in football inspite of 4 embarassing bowl losses in a row, 2 of them esp embarassing given who they lost to, but he's also the "cleanest" OU coach in the last 1/2 century!!
I have the same reaction as BDR...I remember that comment quite well. I hope he does well and gives the guys across town all they want and more......
I think he's a great fit for their program and one of the best coaching hires made last offseason. That said, I don't think he consistently wins there right away but give him a couple of years with his style and Ucla will be back in the thick of things, IMO.
I hear ya Rick <r>I think Rick's biggest crime is that he spoke too much. I can probably name 20 shadier characters off the top of my head who take no heat, or little. Hell, he's not even in the top 5 POTENTIALLY shady characters in the Pac10.<br/> <br/> Terry,<br/> <QUOTE><s> </e></QUOTE> That's like being the most virtuous porn star of the 70s.</r>
