A lot of recruitniks will be glued to the internet today. Good luck to all getting your dream players today.
Which way is NEBRASKA thinking? Well, Tommie Fraziers cousin just signed his LOI outa Manatee HS in FL. Our prize catch (Owamagbe Odighizu) is holding out until 1330 hrs today. He's narrowed it down to UCLA, OSU, NEBRASKA.
Looks like Gators, Texas, Alabama are going have the best classes. Oklahoma is also having a top 5 class. The ESPN top 15 has Texas A&M in it as well. No teams from the B12N in the top even made the top 25, so we'll probably continue to see the B12 South teams dominate in B12 play. These are ESPN ratings. Irish probably barely hung into the top 20 with a current rank of #19 in the ESPN poll.
Uh Oh....rumor has it he's avoiding the COB and is going with the BEAVER... Damn....all right kid...good luck.
Bill, looking at the ESPN stuff, they don't show a single Gator recruit as a QB? Is that right? If so are you guys loaded behind Brantley?
And now we get the other side of the story... Everyone carps at schools for playing the shell game with kids during recruiting, but here's the flip side. LB Corey Nelson signed with OU today. He'd been committed to A&M for 6 months, and when some smoke appeared last week that he might be waivering he came out and reaffirmed his commit. Today he changed his mind. It's the kid's right to go where he wants, my only problem here is the fact that he jaked us ON signing day leaving no chance to fill that slot with another quality player. We had a good in with a LB that has now signed with Ok St, but we didn't pursue because of Nelson.
I agree Scott, I think it really sucks when kids do that on the last day after having been commits for 6 months or more. I don't understand it myself. I've been on both sides of the equation, we got a kid that had been committed to BYU for quite awhile who pulled the plug on them last week. But we lost a kid the week before to Stanford. I don't mind so much kids who can't make up their minds and take the decision down to signing day or there abouts, at least you know and can either hang in there and hope or forget him and work on somebody else. This is where I would really like a Nat'l Signing day in the late Summer before fall camp opens. Terry
QB's <t>Terry, the Gators have two QB's, Burton and Murphy. Neither is real highly rated. Both are 3* I believe.<br/> <br/> Tom, Tennessee has done a very nice job and are now in the top 10 according to both Rivals and Scout. Seems you took some players from Georgia and they have really slipped in the rankings.</t>
Well Irish are #13 in the Rivals ranking right now, #18 in Scout and #19 in the ESPN rankings. Over all I think Kelly did an excellent job putting with this transition class for ND. Kiffin did a better job last year for Tenn, and will do the same for USC this year, but most transition classes aren't as good as what Kelly has put together. Given he's the 4th coach since Lou left and we've not exactly been a juggernaut it speaks well for his effort and effectiveness. To me the suprise of this year is Auburn and Gene Chizek. I thought he was a desperation hire, given his short unsuccessful tenure at Iowa State, and wouldn't do very well at Auburn. But he had a good first year and nearly upset the Nat'l Champions, and he's really kicked ass on the recruiting trail, they have a huge class (30), again not sure how he'll fit all those guys in at Auburn but still a tremendous effort.
