And that describes this country in a nutshell. That asshole in Orlando legally bought his assault weapon. I guess every American... Even radical Muslim ones and the mentally ill have legal right to bear arms that can slaughter a hundred home intruders all at once.
    WTF people???

Gun control worked in this case, at least for the terrorist. Under Fl. law none of the patrons in Pulse could bring in their weapons. It created a gun free shooting gallery for the shooter. So lets make the country a gun free shooting gallery for what our "leader" called "the JV."

You paint the entire country based on the actions of a whack-job terrorist?

Scott that's how the left works. You get angry at radical Islamists and they point at you and claim that you're damning a whole religion because of the acts of one or two. They call you names and labels like Islamaphobe. Then the assholes do the exact same thing about gun owners.

The sick part is that this crap keeps happening with regularity perpetrated by legally purchased firearms by highly questionable individuals and there are many of you on the right who think status quo is just fine and dandy.... you keep sticking your collective heads in the bloodied sand.

On being armed I can imagine all the shooting going on if this would have happened in a darkened crowded C&W bar. Shooters not knowing who the shooter was with so many weapons drawn and guns ablazing.....

    Probably 100 plus dead.....

Do you really think that if he didn't have a gun this evil jihadist wouldn't have put on a suicide vest and blown the whole club up? The Boston Marathon terrorists used pressure cookers to make bombs. The 9/11 killers used box cutters to take over planes. How far is your head up your ass to think that without guns these killers will stop?
And your ******** about the C&W bar shows your bigotry. These guys slaughter at college campuses, military bases, and bars like Pulse. They're "soft" targets because they're "gun free." They'd never dare pull this **** in a place where folks could fight back.

"The condition statute that covers the license to hold ammunition, Title XLVI Chapter 790, clearly claims that guns aren’t allowed in bars."

As I am reading this on different sites all bars in Florida licensed to serve alcohol are "gun free zones" by state law.

If true then it's quite a farce to infer that the horror happened in Pulse because it is specifically a "gun free zone"....

Come to think of it I have never seen any sign outside of a bar that said
    "guns welcome"

We have a jihadist who is angry about gays. He want to kill as many as he can as he goes off to his 72 virgins. Where better than a gay bar that's a gun free zone? Even though he was a registered Democrat he was able to figure that out.

We now pass a law that prohibits gun ownership in the US. Fortunately, since we have no southern border, the hundreds of thousands of illegals who enter the country can carry with them a gun or two to sell when they get here. The same type of idiots who thought that prohibition would stop alcohol consumption believe that a gun ban will prevent terrorist gun attacks.

    Scott,

I don't care if you want to go to the back 40 and plunk beer cans all day long with your assault rifle..... I assume that you would pass the proper and detailed background check.

This guy was twice on a watch list because of Islamic Radicalism and yet he can still legally purchase an assault rifle?

This is where the sanity departs from your side of the fence.

I can't imagine that even your presumptive nominee Mr. Trump would agree with that absurd right wing logic.

First Dave, neither I nor the Orlando killer had an assault rifle. If he did, every person in that building would be dead and probably many of the police.
If you can't understand the difference go watch the youtube videos of the north Hollywood bank robbers from the 90s. Those jokers had assault rifles (fully automatic) and the destruction was ludicrous.

The fact that the background checks failed just goes to show that the laws Hillary and her croanies propose won't stop evil people from doing evil things.

As gipper already pointed out... He could have used a bomb and in fact did have one.
Even if you managed to pass a gun ban people were going to die because of his hate.

All that shows is that the current laws we have in place to keep guns out of bad people's hands are woefully inadequate.

The NRA and conservative right fights like hell to ensure that a radical Islamist pledged to Isis and known to the FBI can get a very deadly multiple round firing weapon like he had simply becuase he is an American citizen.

Donald Trump is a lot of unusual things but at least he is a pragmatist when it comes to this kind of nonsense from his party's establishment.

If Trump doesn't say or do anything too stupid like "the American citizen in Orlando had the contstitutional right to buy his AR-15" etc. then this Islamic radical may have helped his white house chances significantly:

You mean we won't have another 4 years of Obama under Hillary? No more refusal to blame radical Islam? No more calling ISIS the JV? No more allowing Iran to build nuclear weapons and develop missals? No more fighting terrorism by closing Gitmo? No more Senior Advisons in the White House like Muslim Vallerie Jarrett? What a fuckin' shame!

You know if we had more FBI agents, or we didn't have to use them to investigate criminals like our former Secy. of State, we might have been able to properly vet this guy. So here's the plan, let's open our arms to more Syrian refugees. After all, we might just run out of these murderers if we don't load up some more potential radicals.

Very sad. I'm onboard with somehow getting control of these types of rifles and leaving shotguns and hunting rifles alone. I don't feel good about taking handguns out of the hands of citizens. As always the criminals will always have them one way or another.

Also anybody who thinks that short of some draconian seizure of all weapons in the USA that gun violence will stop is just wrong. In Europe where there is a lot of gun control, they've had a number of big mass murders mostly using homemade bombs but the assault on the French Magazine Charlie was a with guns.

So was the assault on the theater and nightclub in Paris.
