Not to mention that Don Shula is one of the all-time great NFL coaches and a class act all the way.

a class act doesnt have a press conferance..and tells the world. "If Pats go undefeated this year they need an asterisk" Pats " cheated the first quarter of the first game this year. They are on a mission now proving they did not need to cheat.... and I love it

Jif, they didn't only cheat for the first quarter of 1 game this year. You can bet they have been doing this for a long time. Most likely since the day Bill showed up. Are/were other teams doing it?" Most likely, but the Pats got caught. The information on those tapes were not only helping them in the game they were playing, but everytime they played the team thereafter. While steps are made by every team to change up their signs, alot of it does stay the same. If they have past video of defensive signs of an upcoming opponent, rest assured they are going to analyze it and use it in that upcoming game. Even though the tapes have now been destroyed (on a side note, those tapes were destroyed faster than one could blink leaving me suspicious of how far the investigation actually went) the information is still there for them to utilize. They could very easily be utilizing notes they had on the opponent's signals for upcoming games.

The Pats are a great team. Nobody disputes that fact, especially this year. Barry Bonds was always a great player just the same. But when you get caught cheating or, in Bonds case, have a giant pile of evidence against you the suspicion will always rightfully be there. Once anyone is caught cheating at anything, all past and future success will be scrutinized and questioned. As a Pats fan you are going to have to deal with it.

Good points Mike. I like watching the Pats because they are so good and efficient but fact is that they cheated, maybe they cheated better than anybody else I don't know. But a Pats fan crying foul...that's too much.

Pats are going to play them one at a time. Whats happened in the past is history. Im sure Bill is committed to getting to 19 wins this year...and maybe even years to come! The country, it seems, has been looking for a reason to hang Bill. However, I will say this, Jim Rome who calls them as he sees them..has moved over to Bills side this week. jif

Oh, Jim Rome...now there's an authoritative source for your moral compass. :p

Sorry about your luck, man...your team got caught with it's hand in the cookie jar...and calling Don Shula a bunch of names doesn't change it.

The question here is who the hell is Shula to insist on an * :?: Maybe because his 17-0 is in danger :?: :?:

He didn't call a press conference...he was set up by the press who were trying to make a story...he told them what he honestly thought and wasn't derogatory to the Patriots...who then responded by calling one of the best and classiest coaches in NFL history a bunch of names that included "old" and "washed up"...screw 'em.

This is rare, Bruschi complaining about people questioning their integrity....hey Teddy if you guys hadn't cheated nobody would do that....don't you get it? You cheated, you admitted you cheated, the league fined you for cheating. You have no leg to stand on when somebody questions your integrity. You cheated!!
