    The Sporting News picks Mariano Rivera the #1 closer of all time. He is also endorsed by the #2 Dennis Eckersley who says it is no contest.

    Even I agree that Rivera is the greatest of all-time. The stats prove that. My argument was over who was the best reliever in baseball when Gagne was on his three year run. Gagne was the best for that time period, but Rivera's place in the Hall of Fame is already reserved. He's had the greatest career...

    Kyle Farnsworth was pitching the 8th inning today, setting up for Rivera. He was popping the radar gun at 102 mph. That's as fast as I've ever seen. He struck out the side.
