Note this from CFN: "South Carolina has evolved over the last month in ways that transcend Xs and Os and don’t show up in the film room on Sunday morning. The program has the right frame of mind for its second meeting with Auburn. It’s encouraging news for Gamecock fans, as well as the backers of TCU, Wisconsin, and Stanford, who are hoping to rise in the rankings before BCS bowl bids go out a week from now." I am predicting the upset......... SC 34 - 31 over Auburn
You mean this is not foregone conclusion? I figured we would just have to watch Auburn beat SC again. Why would anyone want to watch that?
To clarify.....that is my prediction.....not CFN's. KP.....your team played em both. What is your prediction?
Well I originally thought that since So.Car played Auburn tough at Auburn that on a neutral field they would beat them. But after watching Auburn beat Alabama, I think Auburn is a solid favorite. Of course So. Car can win of that I have no doubt, but it would be an upset. I do expect a moderately high scoring game, as I do think that So. Car reciever will have an excellent day against Auburn DB's. Also So. Car has an excellent RB, maybe this year the SEC's top back.
And a better defense than does Auburn and I am here to tell you that the SC kicker ( I saw his kicks repreatedly go straight through the uprights in person ) will give SC the edge at FG kicking.....which I expect the game to come down to.
One thing I would bet the house on for this game. At approximately 15 minutes before the teams exit the lockerrooms the last time before the game none other than Dr. Lou Holtz will give a guest pep talk to the Gamecocks that will have them frothing at the mouth and ready for blood. Spurrier gets along well with Lou and I think Lou would like to see SC do well in this game given his past tenure there. That's worth something if it happens.
I'm guessing Lou will be in the Studio doing his usual shctick with Mark May and Fowler, not in Hotlanta!
They say Addazio will be back which makes every Gator cringe....almost. Either Meyer forced his offensive playcalling will on Addazio and Meyer knows it and wants it that way or Addazio is not a first rate OC by any stretch. I suspect Meyer wants to keep Addazio not because of his abilities but because he is a great fall guy for Meyer and doesn't get in the way. If Meyer brought in a top notch high paid OC then how would that guy mesh with Meyer? What would happen when he said he had his way of doing things and Meyer was wrong in his thinking? I am saying this because this has been one hell of a disjointed year for the UF offense. I guess though that what get's lost in the shuffle is the injuries to Jeff Demps and the two losses ( LSU, MSU ) by three points when the very good but injured FG kicker for UF was subbed for by the punter. In any event it has been a very rough year for Meyer and the Gators.
MCG, I'm not sure. Auburn is good, not great. You have to have a great defense to be great. SC is good too, not great, but their defense may be better than Auburn's. The defensive line needs to contain Newton not rush but contain, and cover receivers well. Turnovers will tell the story. If no turnovers, Gamecocks win. :?:
Marcus Lattimore.....Alshon Jeffries and that SC defense impressed the hell out of me a couple of weeks ago.
I like South Carolina here. Auburn has the best player in the country. South Carolina has better RBs. South Caroline has a better OL. South Carolina has a better defense. South Carolina has a better kicker. And The ole ball coach in a rematch...
Quite a first half, it was all Cam Newton in the 1st qtr but So.Car. has played him better in the 2nd qtr and they finish with a drive to get it to 21-14 and they get the ball to start the 2nd half.
