Looks like the SEC West gets down to MSU vs. Bama next week. The winner would definitely be in the driver's seat especially if it's MSU. The SEC East is hard to figure now that Georgia reasserted it's worthiness yesterday. Dawgs vs. Tigers is the only game standing in their way because I just don't think Mo. can win out it's three remaining SEC games against a resurgent TexA&M and Tenn plus tough out Arkansas. If Ga slips and UF wins out I could see Mo losing two of those three games because they have no offense and then what.... UF in Atlanta?
Georgia just played a shitty Kentucky team who always folds in November. The difference between the 2 divisions of this conference could not be greater. The East is somewhere South of the ACC while the West is somewhere substantially south of the NFL, but North of everyone else playing amateur football. If/when Auburn drops Georgia, that will wrap up the East regardless of what Missouri does shy of melting down. The Iron Bowl should be a lot of fun this year.
That same Ky team gave SEC West leader MSU fits. When Georgia gets Gurley back the Dawgs could be trouble for anyone.... including any west opponent. Even with the mistake prone Jeff Driskel Florida probably should have beaten a team that played Bama extremely tight and that beat Ole Miss....the LSU Tigers. So while I do agree the SEC West is top to bottom head and shoulders above the East there are teams in the East.... UF included now that JD is on the bench.... that could be very dangerous on any given Saturday for the West teams. I think UF will be tons of trouble for ACC kingpin FSU....maybe ultimately losing because Winston is so good and the only weak link in the Florida defense is a blown coverage or two in the secondary once in awhile.
We'll see how that goes against the kingpin. Georgia was beaten by South Carolina, WITH Gurley. For all the hype and hyerbole, Kentucky is 5-5 with wins over Ohio, UT-Martin, Vanderbilt, South Carolina and La-Monroe. Vanderbilt is about the level of a decent Mid-American team. UT found their QB, but they still have some real issues along the lines. 1st place Missouri is wearing that loss to Indiana like an albatross across their neck.
Corey I did say the West is head and shoulders better than the East...... with good reason. But I stand by my stance that Georgia might be a dangerous team in Atlanta if they get there and should UF win out they have the defense that combined with a minimal error offense and good running game could be a tough opponent in Atlanta as well. UF is a whole lot different team with Treon than with JD. The Missouri game was as dismal a display for a UF offense as anything witnessed in my lifetime and I don't think we see that repeated with Treon at Qb. I'm not sold on Mo. as the East rep and I hope they don't get there.
