It was up for discussion, and last night we were told that South Carolina will be ours going forward.
    I like it.
I went to Clemson a few years ago and the fans were great.
I've heard the USC folks are similar in their hospitality so I'm looking forward to it.

I guess ours will be LSU then........which has been a bitch lately.

Thankfully for Florida... Tenn. has softened up just a tad and Georgia.....while competitive hasn't been as tough as they could be. South Carolina has finally found itself under Spurrier and they had a great recruiting year so look for them to remain very tough as long as SOS hangs around.

I guess they had to do something like that or games like Tenn/Alabama would cease to be annual games.

I believe so Terry. There was a proposal on the table that those who wanted to keep their annual rivals would and it would take them longer to play everyone in the other division. Those that didn't want to would rotate two games a year. I didn't know it had been settled.

On the LSU and Gator front, the LSU AD announced that both Florida and LSU wanted to discontinue the series, the Gators denied that.

Scott, I have not read anywhere else that this is final. Do you have a link?

It's not that I don't believe you I just want to see what else is said in the article. There is a lot of speculation that there might be some realignment or movement to a 9 game conference schedule in the future.

    Bill,

I don't have a link because it hasn't been announced as finalized yet.
A&M's president told some folks this was the pretty sure outcome, so I went ahead and posted it.
As of now, the tea leaves say 8 conf games consisting of 6 div games, 1 cross rival, and then 1 rotating game, but it won't be home and home for the "other" game.
You will play all of the others in successive years, and then flip the away or home to balance the equation.
That way we play ALL of the other division teams in 5 years.
    Seems like a good idea.

It does Scott, but it doesn't seem anyone on GatorCountry has heard. Actually I was kind of hoping for the Gators to have the Aggies as our permanent opponent.

    Thanks
