    IRT the Top 20, it's a 5 - 5 tie

    and a 4 - 4 tie for Top 10

I think you better check the sign on the door there SEC...seems to me that somebody is painting over it.

I totally agree about the Big 12 making inroads as the strongest conference this year. No other conference can boast the top QBs that the Big 12 can and really, there is no more important position. I think the SEC is a little overrated this year on the basis of the past few years. I think Auburn at #9 is a joke. I was high on them to start the season but they just won a game against MSU (who lost opening weekend to La. Tech) 3-2. Georgia beat SC 14-7 and they drop a spot in the polls. Auburn can't score a single TD and they pretty well stand pat. How does that make sense? That SC team that Georgia beat, BTW, lost to Vandy last weekend and is not all that good. I think UGa is a vastly overrated hype machine. IMO, LSU and Florida are the class of the league. LSU has a question at QB but they didn't exactly have a world beater last year either.

Great points. I think that the SEC has had the most passion and talent over the years...(pause for effect) but, and I said this several years ago, coast to coast, you have bigger, faster, stronger kids than we have EVER seen in AMERICA and it has brought the playing field(s) to even planes almost across the board in Div 1. It's a matter of coaching and motivation now. The B12 just happens to be in a broad enough spector now to challenge the SEC as the Toughest conference in America.

B12 has been evolving ever since it was formed. It hasn't happened overnight. Mizzou has taken Pinkel quite awhile to build up, the resurrection job Synder did on KState, and I hate to say it but the job that dude at Texas Tick has done is remarkable. We are a much deeper confernce now than ever before.

I forgot about them! KU inspite of that loss at USF is now a good solid program. B12 N which was a joke not that long ago is now a very good division. Not like the South with TEXAS and OU, plus Texas Tick! :)

KU's problem is lack of speed.

They have a well conceived offense, and execute it very well. Same for their defense.

However, when they come up against teams that have great speed they are a step short. You could see that a little bit against USF. It will be more pronounced if they face any elite teams...

I'm not saying they won't have a good season, but it won't be quite as good as last year.

I will have to say number of great QB's in that league today is just sick....I can't ever remember a group in any league at any time being remotely close.....hell, it wasn't that long ago everybody in that league was running the option! Where did these guys come from?
