Terry, when Darth's demise came Hans Solo was on the planet battling the forces of evil. When Luke Skywalker wouldn't come to the darkside and wouldn't fight Darth the Emperor ordered Darth to kill Luke. When Darth wouldn't do that the Emperor was in the process of using his power to Kill Luke. It was then that Darth turned from the Darkside and threw the emperor into the ships powerplant killing him but in the process destroying himself. In the end Darth Vader was responsible for killing the evil Emperor Palpatine and eventually restoring the good people to power. So in the end Darth was responsible for disposing the evil emperor. Do I have my history right?
Terry, blame it on my son-in-law who is a big time fan and it wore off on me a bit. Not only that I did enjoy the series and at one time or another, thanks to grandchildren, have watched all the movies more than once.
