Watching the Georgia/ Ole Miss game--my God these refs make the Big 10 refs look all-world.

I'm scouting UCLA/Stanford. Neither looks impressive so far, not that it is surprising with regards to the Cardinal...but I thought UCLa would look better. It seems to me that they really miss Maurice Drew, he made them an explosive offense last year.

    re: Georgia

They do not look like a top ranked team to me.

    re: UCLA

The Bruins lost a lot more than Drew; they lost everybody. Most of their starters are frosh/sophs and the entire team is rebuilding. As you saw, their defense looks pretty good, but they're having major problems on offense. I can't see them doing much this season, they're a year away...

From the looks of things yesterday, no one is dominating the scene this year. Every team looks vulnerable. It could get very interesting.

    KP,

I thought the Alabama Defense was great against Florida yesterday. The offense just could not seem to be consistent and score against the Gators when needed.

    Don,
Agreed. I think Shula may need to turn playcalling over the OC.

The Gator defense is playing like an SEC Champion so far.

When the offense is as sluggish as it was in the first part of the game yesterday it is playing like a lower tier SEC team but when they pick it up...and it seemed to happen when Tebow finally was inserted...the Gators are pretty good on offense.

On the SEC refs.....they called it pretty fair yesterday. Yes..I know the reviews went to Fla but in fairness not one was definitively in favor for Bama in real time, first look or upon the scrutiny of review. They were close plays to be sure but to overturn it has to be conclusive and none seemed to be clear enough to overturn if not making it look more like the right call was called in the first place.

I do think they curiously allowed Bama to hold on some of those pass plays where Wilson seemed to have 6 months back there but they didn't call Florida for holding either if the Gators did any.

    Hey MCG,
I already laid out your story. Not only did you beat Alabama but you overcame an obviously Alabama favoring officiating crew. Don't wimp out on me now. You have laid out the story that everyone is against Florida, don't back down just because you won!

I call it as I believe it to be Kp.

I try not to view everything with Orange and Blue glasses when it comes to the refs and their calls. Of course I will be more tuned in however most of the time to those calls that affect Fla in a negative way and be the most vocal about those.

I do pledge however to try and view it as a whole when UF is involved and I think most times I will admit if a call does seem to favor UF when clearly it should not. Unfortunately that doesn't happen very often it seems.

Great effort by a tough bunch from Tuscaloosa.

Hey you know now that you mention it, no way Tebow runs on us like he did unless Florida was holding. I like the way you think. We didn't really lose, the refs stole the game from us because of the calls they didn't make. Wow this makes the game a whole lot more fun.

Tebow runs with more power than any Qb I have ever seen in college football. I don't think it is a myth that he is supposedly the strongest player on the team.

And to think he threw for 10,000 yards in H/S football...
