I will hazard a guess that LSU will hold on to win with the score being 35 to 3 half way through the 3rd quarter. That makes two SEC teams winning from the position of the underdog to make the SEC 2 - 0. That's a much better strt than I expected seeing how I didn't pick either one. I've actually lost 30 points on those two games,

As I stated in my "trends" topic...I hope this is the start of something great for the SEC.... :D

I see the Big 12 is now 2-1....but so far the SEC has shown some D in comparison to the Big 12's outings.

2-1. Not a good showing by the Cocks. Iowa is a really weird team though...

South Carolina is a weird team.

We have the Ol' Ball Coach, Offensive Genius. Yet the last 3 games we scored, 6, 14 and 10 points. We have no QB and no OL. WR's drop balls all day. I mean hell, I could coach this team better than The Ol' Ball Sack!

What the heck happened to USCe?? I was busy clearing oysters from under our boat lift and dock and from their pilings - great low tide this morning/afternoon with 20 mph winde out of the NE- and forgot the games had started. Seems that SOS just hasn't been able to get his offense going the last 3 games.

We have the most talent ever at South Carolina on this team yet we are this pathetic. I think this says a lot about how good we are recruiting but how bad we are coaching these kids.

UGA is about to make it 3 - 1 for the SEC. So it appears that today, the SEC and Big Ten will do what amounts to splitting a double header. Had to put it into terms that JIF would understand!

Ole Miss sure is showing that they were not the push over team that most of us thought. If this game continues the way it is going, the SEC will be 4 - 1 with 3 more games to go... 2 of those games show the SEC team as the favorite.

Ole Miss is the same team that was beaten by Wake Forest and Vandy while scraping by Arkansas 23-21.

Not that the regular season matters :p

Bowls are always a crap shoot. Texas Tech had little to get excited about in comming to the Cotton Bowl to face an Ole Miss team nobody thought could win. Which is why you sometimes get crazy outcomes in the bowls.

    Ole Miss 47 - 28 with 4:40 to play.

I think Texas Tick is toast.

However I was a fan of Harrell during the regular season when he was on my fantasy team.

Then of Joe Ganz when Harrell was on an off week when the Championship game was played.

Well all I know is that the Big 12 N is 3 for 3...

The SEC is now 5 - 1 (3 of 3 for the SEC West HH), and 4 of the wins were from the underdog role.

Now the SEC looks like cllllap (as my Scottish buddy at work would say). 5 and 2 (3 and 1 in the West and 2 and 1 in the East) with one SEC East team left to play. 6 and 2 (IF Florida takes care of business)is respectable when 5 of the teams were playing from the underdog role. Nothing to crow about, but respectable none the less.

What's that?? I can't hear you over the awesomeness of 5-0!

    :D :D :D :D

    I kid.

I think you guys have had a good bowl season. I think you had some nice matchups for you that played out quite well. To date, the win of the bowl season for the SEC is Ole Miss over Texas Tech. I could honestly picture many ways Utah could beat Alabama... I just figured with the "Shugah" tradition and all that, the Tide would defend home turf... I didn't think of any way Ole Miss would beat Texas Tech. Leach was exposed for the nutball idiot that he is.. although he is fun to watch.. Houston Nutt once again brought his kids to play in a big game.

Let's see if he can recruit as well as Coach O.

I'd say the 2nd biggest shocker was LSU beating Georgia Tech.. I mean, go figure.. The entire regular season for both teams pointed in an entirely different direction than what took place on the field. Of course, the game did bring back the 'you can't run dat weak a$$ offense against no SEC deefense' chants from the local SEC nutballs. When I mention Georgia, I am always greeted with "I mean a GOOD SEC footbaw team!"

What does one say to idiocy like that? :D Anyway...

Underdog role or not, some of the matchups played out well for teams like Vandy and Kentucky...

All in all, and regardless of the outcome of the illegitimate title game, the SEC had a very good year for themselves in the bowls. I think we can both agree that our own respective conferences were not at their strongest this year and we both showed well...good times

Re: the LSU-Ga.T game, the Tech offense is difficult to prepare for in one week. However, for a bowl game, teams get weeks to prepare and I think it really makes a difference.

    Gip,

Good point. I will be interested to see what happens when GTech recruits one of those hybrid run/throw QBs.... I'm not sure a month will help people prepare for it.
