Since SEC teams reside in southern red states that are struggling with the virus right now and where too many people still politicize things like mask wearing and social distancing the prospect of SEC teams being able to navigate these guidelines for safety is very shaky at best. Not getting my hopes up.

"The Southeastern Conference has announced its initial COVID-19 management requirements for the fall athletics season as recommended by the SEC’s Return to Activity and Medical Guidance Task Force.
Notable in the release were the conditions in which games could be cancelled or the season discontinued.

*Inability to isolate new positive cases, or quarantine high risk contacts of cases of university students.
*Unavailability or inability to perform symptomatic, surveillance or pre-competition testing when warranted.
*Campus-wide or local community positivity test rates that are considered unsafe by local public health officials.
*Inability to perform adequate contact tracing consistent with local, state or federal requirements or recommendations. *Local public health officials indicate an inability for the hospital infrastructure to accommodate a surge in COVID-19 related hospitalizations."

    Agreed Kp.
A nationally controlled massive amounts of funding should have gone into testing and contact tracing way back in early March and we might have been able to mitigate this mess by now.
Instead months of downplaying it and denying it's severity and politicizing steps to reduce the spread have left us in the lurch with regard to college football and the NFL too.
A long and miserable summer could easily turn in to a long and miserable fall too.
