Normally, I would be very excited about this game, but for some reason I’m not. I hope we win and get into the playoffs but I fear if we don’t win, we’re out. Ohio State, Indiana, Georgia, and either BYU or Texas Tech are definitely in and maybe both. Virginia is in if they win today. Oregon, Ole Miss, Texas A&M all have 1 loss and are not playing. Oklahoma finished their season with 2 losses and they beat Alabama in the season. Notre Dame and Miami both have 2 losses and they aren’t playing today. Throw in Tulane(2 losses), and/or James Madison (1 loss) and I think Alabama could end up 13th or 14th with 3 losses. Our fate is in our own hands. Win and we’re in. Lose and we have too many losses.

If you lose but the game is competitive then I think at worst you drop to #10 and as long as BYU loses then Ithink you are safe and in the playoff even with 3 losses.

Again, I hope you’re right. A couple of big concerns. Alabama’s lack of a running game, our propensity to give up big plays and the fact that it is difficult to beat a top 5 team once but it is doubly difficult to beat the same top 5 team twice in the same season.

We don’t have a run game with or without him. I’m haven’t been able to figure it out.

I think the key to Alabama winning is giving Simpson time to throw and no turnovers. Georgia has a more complete team so our defense has to create big stops and turnovers.

Special teams play by Georgia and a quick score. It has the look so far as a defensive battle.

Pick and a long drive by Georgia and it's 14-0 Georgia. So far Alabama hasn't showed a lot of offense a couple of plays, one nice one to Williams but not enough with 2 turnovers.

Trivia: Alyssa Lang who was the reporter who MC'd the Tuition toss tonight is the young lady who asked the departed Mike Leach for marriage advice regarding her upcoming wedding...he famously told her to elope after football season.

3 and out for the Tide and then a good run back by UGA and a solid dri ve for a TD. Not looking good for the Tide. 21-0 UGA.

I have to admit as a ND fan this is a good thing for us. Big win by UGA might lead to the Committee dropping the Tide behind ND and at #9 we'd be in.

Herbie was trying to make a case that the Committee shouldn't drop Alabama with a loss as it's hard to beat a team a 2nd time, which is true it is hard. But a 3 or 4 TD loss would make it easy to drop them a slot. They have said in the past the teams playing a Conf Champ game wouldn't be punished for a loss though so who iknows.

Keeping Alabama at #10 would assure them a slot.

Anything can happen, but through 3 quarters it's pretty clear who the best team is.

Wow that was something... UGa ushering Bama down the field with dumb penalties, but the Tide refusing to catch TD passes.
Finally a Bammer makes a play.

Well Alabama is on the board with a penalty aided drive, but they made the plays when they needed them. Could this be the start of a comeback. I wonder if UGA has gone into that mode where they feel like they have the game and lose intensity?

I get it about ND and not playing in a Conf Championship game. But neither is Miami or OU or Texas A*M which is why in the past the teams playing in the conference championships weren't penalized for the loss and if the Tide makes a comeback and loses by a TD I think they did enough to stay at 10 or better. Which means they are in and then the decision the committee has to make is with neither ND or Miami playing and having consistently ranked ND ahead of Miami do they reverse it and put Miami over ND?
