Just returned from spending the night at son Greg's home as I lost power and heat Friday morning about 3 a.m. He lives closer to Seattle where most power lines are underground. Seattle Times reported today that 800,000 customers were powerless and some outages were expected to last for several days. I went to Greg's early yesterday and took frozen goods to store in his freezer. Most damage was caused by trees being blown over on houses, power lines, etc. Some high tension towere in the Cascades were also damaged. Feel lucky to have power restored so soon. For someone who eats out regularly except for breakfast. I found long lines at retauants. My neighbor stayed a hotel last night, but said hotels with vancancies were hard to find.

I've had your experience, Vic, back in the midwest blizzard of '78, but the outage lasted longer. Thank goodness your son's home was reachable and your power was restored so quickly. It ain't no fun.

You guys got hammered Vic. Hang in there . Meanwhile, 3000 miles to the east we are expecting highs in the mid 60s today. This weather is crazy.

Sid, I remember that blizzard well. That was my last year in Ohio...
