Starts this Thursday, be none of us will really be watching until Sat. Wouldnt it be something if G-tech came out of nowhere and took down Notre Dame. Georgia Tech isnt the usual cake walk team, just ask miami... An improved Defence, an athletic qb, and a superstar WR, has tech fans thinking upset. The Swamp...Getting ready to go 12-0
We will see how good ND really is... While i was watching a college football show, they brought up georgia tech, and said to watch out for their defence, because it is much improved. Im not convinced they could pull an upset. To be honest I highly doubt it, but you never know. We will wait and see
G. Tech not only took down Miami but I believe that they won at Auburn. They're a Jeckel-Hyde type of team who is very dangerous. No only don't we know what team will show up in Atlanta we don't know what type of weather we'll have. Ernesto is a serious threat. Away night games are always difficult. I've got some big concerns about this game. One thing I do know, the Irish will be prepared, in condition, and confident. At least 2 of those were not always there in the prior regime.
Gip, It appears that the hurricane will be skirting the Southeastern corner of Georgia and will be in the Atlantic by Friday morning (present predicted path). That could make for some wet conditions in Atlanta but probably not stormy. For those of you that will be on the road, Sirius channel 159 will carry this game.
Well one thing for sure, we know that Tech won't be leaving the field uncovered or not cutting the grass to slow down the "speedy" Irish. Even our black players are effected by slow white boy syndrome.
G-Tech at home vs ND as a starter game can be tough for ND....its a known fact that defenses are far more ready at the start of the season than the offenses. But......Brady Quinn is in another planetary system as a QB......he will pull ND thru....could be a fourth quarter nail biter. ND by 10 The Gonz
Ernesto looks like its going to ram right through G-Ville. All we need is another hurricane to put a damper on the college football season starting this weekend. I think Notre Dame will come through, but it wont be as easy as ND fans would hope it is First real big Game: Labor Day ...Miami vs Fsu.. Who do you guys have winning?? IMO it all depends on that Hurricanes offensive line. If they cant get the job done, FSU takes it and miami fans are sent home thinking the year is already a failure.
FSU wins easily, last year it was the battle of the incompetent young QB's...this year only Miami's QB is incompetent. Although it is hard to figure how to factor in the Jeff Bowden incompetence. Terry
ND/GT <t>Terry,<br/> <br/> On Saunders... he has an obvious disdain for ND as does M. May ever since ND showed T. Willingham the door. He has yet to give CW any credit for the team's success last year stating "these were T.W. recruits etc." ND may indeed be overated but it woudn't matter they we were ranked 2 or 52, he would pick GT to win the game.<br/> '<br/> GT could possibly win this game. I have watched a copy of the '05 Auburn game several times over the past few weeks and to me, this was more of Auburn having a new QB starting and just playing poorly much of the game. They would have lost to a lot of teams the way they played that game. The Miami game still stumps me. I haven't had a chance to see it and I know GT had a good defense last year but can't understand how they held the 'canes to that few points? <br/> <br/> ND should win the game but it will most likely be a close game and the winner will be the teaam making the fewest mistakes and has made more progress than the other during the off season. <br/> <br/> I'll be happy if they head back to SB with a win by 1 as far as I'm concerned. It's a key game for the Irish.</t>
I think the thing that tips it to ND's favor is that while Ga.Tech has a very good front 7, they are young and thin in the defensive backfield from what everybody is saying. That is not a good thing with JeffS and Rhema runing through your DB's. I think they are assuming 2 things, 1) that Reggie Ball will do a credible Troy Smith immitation and Calvin Johnson will be unstopable. 2) Front 7 of Ga.Tech will dominate ND's OL and not give Brady the time to throw. I do think our OL will have to be ready for their front 7, and I do respect Calvin Johnson he is clearly a very talented WR. But Reggie Ball is only a pretty good QB, not a great QB and while he is athletic and those QB's have given our defense the most trouble, he's less than 50% accuracy unlike say Drew Stanton who could hardly miss last year. That hurricane would go right through Gainesville if that track holds. I think Notre Dame wins this game, but Ga Tech sure has the possibility to pull an upset on any given weekend.
I like the updated track better, stay away from Kissimmee. The 5 o'clock advisory may have the storm completly off the east coast of Florida. I have Miami in a close one also.
