Geez, the wheels have come off Texas Tech. Good thing this game wasn't last week, he was my QB and Bradford was Buckeye T's. I would have been killed.
Yup he's out. This really makes it a 3 horse race Tebow, Bradford and McCoy with Tebow and Bradford out front.
I've missed one half of football here <t>and he's out of the Heisman? How is that? I mean, I know they are getting smoked but has he been that bad?</t>
16/28 for 156 yards, a td and an interception. But he has looked out of sync all night. I just think this one sided loss takes him out. We will see. He just completed another pass to Crabtree which was only his 3rd reception of the night. Update, down 51 - 7 Harrrell is completing some passes.
That's the unwritten rule, esp when your top competition is having a great game. Oh he'll get votes, and finish 4th, but no way with his team getting smoked tonight does he win the Heisman. He's still had a great year and is a great player, but those other guys are great players too and their teams haven't laid a big fat egg.
the one thing that the past 10 years of college football has proven.... is that there is no such thing as 'the rules' every unwritten rule, from heisman to national title selection, has been broken, shattered, contradicted etc...
What I do think Corey is that a loss like this takes Harrell out. If nothing else he'll be labeled a product of the system like a lot of people labeled Spurrier's QB's at Florida. I think Bradford has the inside track right now.
I hear ya Bill.. but one of those products won a Heisman. For that matter, Urban's got one of those as well
Well if he'd lost tonight but thrown for 400 yds, 39 completions 5 TD's then he'd still be in there fighting. I don't think McCoy dropped out because he had a great game in the loss to Tech, and in fact had what should have been a game clinching drive to win the game. Tebow plays for a very hot Gator team who is murdering everybody. Sam Bradford is leading a OU team that is murdering his team. It's pretty simple.
