The time of the year that you and I look forward too with so much glee. No, not the holidays, but rather the 'how can the BCS screw itself right into the ground' time of the year.

Lets work out our evil plan. What upsets do we need? Let's get the voodoo going.

Well that little concussion for the OU QB got the potion started...
Hmm... not sure what else we need to sprinkle in.

I'd actually like to see Kansas make it...
Imagine the snooty football blue-bloods having to tolerate the Jayhawks on the biggest stage.

It's gonna be hard to screw it up too much with Ohio St sitting there at 11-1.

I definitely want L$U to lose a game... doesn't matter to who. The question then is this: would OSU leap over West Virginia? Who's to say they wouldn't deserve to?

Might make for some messy stuff if KU or Mizzou can win the Big XII, and then decide between that winner/OSU/W Virginia.

    Chaos RULZ!!!

Come on guys, think! Those of us who really hate the NCAA elites want to see a Kansas-Hawaii finale! There must be some way that it can happen...

welcome to the Temple of Doom kids

<t>-UT wins out and beats LSU
-Kansas beats Missou but loses to OU (Hessley would kill me for saying this)
-West Va loses to UCONN
-Arizona State wins out (at this point, that gives us a OSU/ASU NC Game), but for sake of chaos lets say they lose to USC.
-VaTech loses to BC
-Oregon is dead in the water
-If USC wins out and the above takes place.. USC re-enters the NC picture.

The winner of the Boise/Hawaii game still claims they were cheated because we will have Ohio State vs 2 loss USC for the NC...while the winner of the game, most likely Boise, will go onto win another BCS bowl game.

hahahahahaha

ps
I can hear Georgia and Florida fans looking up at this and thinking 'why not us'.. I'm thinking the pollsters will jiggle it around and somehow prevent a multiple loss division runner up who DIDN'T play in the con title game playing for the NC over a conference champ..

Dear God, what if Okie State beats Oklahoma.. does Texas go to the con game then?? My head is spinning.. good night</t>

Interesting side note based on the jabber of the talking heads.......

The no-brainer candidate - according to "some" - to succeed Lloyd Carr is Les Miles. Miles (or UM) has to pay LSU a $1.25 mil buyout IF he seeks or accepts the UM position. On top of that, there's the timing issue. When does the search begin? Does it become a distraction for the SEC championship game? If LSU wins and goes to the NC game, how does Miles avoid making this the topic of conversation and a distraction to his game preparation? How does it affect the psyche of his team? Does UM wait until after the bowls to "begin" its search? If so, how does this roughly 6-week delay affect UM's recruiting?

Of course, UM may have someone else in mind.....or.....LSU could lose the SECCG, which could accelerate the process.

Based on the information provided in another topic, Carr may have been preparing for a year or two for this to happen. If so, it would seem the UM folks have compiled a list of candidates in anticipation of Carr's retirement. Is Miles at the top of that list? Who else might they consider?

    Yada.....yada.....yada.

Supposedly, Sid, Carr is not a big Les Miles fans. There seems to be some bad blood between the two, perhaps dating back to when Carr became interim head coach. Supposedly, there were also issues over negatoive recruiting tactics by Miles at OSU when the schools competed for the same player. Carr does have influence at the school.
Perhaps this is all blog B.S., but, at today's press conference, Carr, when discussing potential sucessors, pointed out that Bo was not a "Michigan man" ( the mantra used by Miles supporters) and the need to maintain institutional integrity.. Perhaps, I am reading the tea leaves too closely but those comment could be construed as not being a ringing endorsement of Miles.

I'm inclined to go with your gut feeling, Bobda, which puts a whole different perspective on the situation. Lord knows it's by far one of the most desirable jobs in the country. There won't be any shortage of highly qualified candidates.

I can vouch for that one.

They call him "Lies Miles" down in our neck of the woods.
I for one hope he goes to M.
I want that sorry bastard as far away from Texas as possible...

The irony of the M vacant coaching job being a distraction to the LSU team and staff and potentially being a material hurdle in their road to the NC game and possibly being a benefit to the Buckeyes is a great and wonderful thing.......thanks Lloyd! A conference man to the last!

What about Gary Barnett to LSU, that would make a lot of sense. It would be a match made in Heaven. He'd be bigger than Jimmy Swaggert, Mickey Gilley and Jerry Lee Lewis all put together. :)
The BCS' 'cash grab' change to be announced has screwed things up a bit.. Its thrown me off my game.. But Barnett to LSU... Its not like hiring Switzer, but its close....
