Corey can use his toothpick... I'll stick with the 30RD magazine.

No chance I'll get that close to tusks!

You gotta have a back up... and the toothpick is a real good backup plan ;)

    :D

I like Scott's backup plan better...

BTW- BOTH pitchers at tonight's Dodgers-Cardinals game were from Texas A&M. In fact, they were college roommates there:

    Stripling vs. Wacha

    Corey is of course correct.

My actual backup comes in the form of 9mm hollow-points.

If I get down to the knife... things have gone sideways in a big way!

    JO'Co, I saw that.
Very proud of those two guys... they were very big for the Aggies when in College Station, and it's nice to see them get to represent in the Show...

That or you are a terrible shot! lol ;)

I started with the crossbow and pick pretty much because I'm crazy. Since the thing with my son's mother, I just don't feel comfortable keeping guns in the house. Scott's plan is obviously superior though.

Mind you, I'm not anti-gun at all, it's just all things considered within this particular situation, it's best not to have one around.

    100% understood.

My step-girls have zero interest in guns but you just never know.
So I keep mine combo locked in a vault so there's no way for them to ever get curious or anything else.

I'm a pretty good shot under controlled conditions... But who knows when the pissed offf pig is coming at you! I might scream like a little girl and hide behind Corey.
    :p

Yet another reason I'm very happy to just live vicariously through stories by Scott, Corey and Ralph (gators and snakes!).

    Good news bad news boys.

The good news, is that I've grown fat so there's plenty of room behind me.
The bad news is that I still have the feet of Fred Astaire, so I may be high tailing it as well :)

You are correct though, I'm far more likely to just dig in and face the charge. Either it's your day, or it's not.

Oh man it's a 4 door, got room to spare for one more not counting the bed...My 3 legged bird dog hogs the bed for himself unless you scratch him then he's your buddy...

And never seen a hog jump before and thankful for it as I have been run up a tree a time or two to get away from a hog as he decided to change direction and attack...I prefer dialing in my scope and dropping them from a 100 yards these days...

I tell ya what fellas, I've got four 30 round mags that will be loaded with .30 caliber ammo.
If a pig can get through a whole mag, he deserves to put a tusk on me.
I'm of the opinion he won't make it.

This is the stuff I'm using. Has been VERY accurate so far and should pack a punch. I'm itching to try it out on a real ham before showing up at Ralph's, but it keeps raining here.

Scott, with that hog charging, the only shot is a head shot. Their skull is so thick a 9mm will bounce off. The 9mm is the same projectile size as the .38 or .357... However, the .347 has close to double the powder of a 9mm. You need the knock down penetration power of the .40 S&W. Even better would be the 10mm. It is .40 cal projectile with the powder of the .357.

Of course, the .50 S&W has the power to penetrate the skull, exit the ass, and penetrate the skull of the hog behind him. 8)
