    I will be interested in seeing whether or not they go after family members. I have a hard time believing that he was alone in this rip off. His sons were in the firm, they had to be either stupid and incompetent or complacent in this scam.

    They are also trying to shield the wife, and I hope she ends up penniless just like so many of his clients. She doesn't deserve better than they.

    There are several things that are galling about this thing.

    1. He really has no remorse
    2. He intended to do this from the start, it wasn't one of those things that evolved over time due to some circumstance that caused him to do something illegal and he intended to pay it back as soon as possible. It was an outright scam from day 1.
    3. According to the guy who was on 60 minutes last week, he's been telling the SEC it was a SCAM since 2001 or something like that. They dismissed him. I'm sure because Madoff was not only politically connected but also a former NASDQ chairman and well respected (supposedly) person.

    I wouldn't be opposed to the death penalty for him.
