Well here we go. The Aggies win the Arkansas game for 6 straight, and had to do it twice. Once it regulation, thanks to a bogus TD not allowed. Then again in OT. A win is a win. Sorry Obese Brett... Kesley and I discussed yesterday FSU giving 14 points to NCSt, and not having played a game or a QB in 3 weeks. Both of us said we'd go big on NCSt. Too bad we weren't in Vegas! Mike Gundy's hair. WOW! Love it! Total Guido for the Pokes. 8) Let the games continue...
I didn't see the A&M game, what happened? You rooting for your boy Kenny Hill? FSU hadn't played in a game in 3 weeks and the loss of Francois really had to have hurt. Although NCSTATE was supposed to have one of the best front 7 in college so they weren't exactly a cup cake.
Ok just saw the replay, total wiff by the ref. I don't understand how that didn't get reversed, if they had called it A TD, and he had stepped out of bounds replay would have brought it back to where he stepped out. Oh yeah congrats on the win I was rooting for the Aggies as usual.
Lots of heavy favorites struggling... Neb losing to Rutgers at the half So is Michigan losing to Purdue at half BC and Clemson tied in the middle of the 3rd qtr Miami still losing to Toledo USC and CAL in a battle. I expect most if not all the favorites to win in the end. Alabama showing no mercy to Vanderbilt.
OMG Oklahoma State just got hosed, TCU back fumbled the ball into the end zone yet they gave him the score.. Clearly no part of the ball crossed the goal, how did replay not overturn that call.
I am AJ, I'm going to Florida in a few weeks! That Riley move never computed to me from the beginning for either side. Oh well... guess you'll get another shot on the coaching carousel soon enough. USC and Cal... not that much of a surprise to me. SC is WAY overrated... I kinda give the Florida schools a pass the first half of the season. Even if they weren't directly impacted by Irma, you know a lot of their loved ones were. Hard to focus on football if your Mom, or Grandad, or cousin is getting to what's left of their house in a canoe. (Ralph... I'm still hoping for something great to happen for you and Ginger!) This might be "Give 'em Hell" weekend from the little guys...
In the Texas A & M game the reason they gave for not giving the TD to the Aggies was that the whistle had blown thus stopping the clock. I didn't see the TCU td, the game is not on here. Been watching Michigan and Purdue, Michigan finally took over and leads 21-10. Miami winning a wild one. About to go to the SEC channel to watch Florida - Kentucky. I am concerned about this game.
Well, Alabama played a complete game. Defense was complete and dominating. Pass rush showed up finally. Running game was Equally dominating, with offensive line opening huge holes. Hurts handed the ball off well. So so day passing but with our running backs he doesn't have to be a Unitas.
Thank you Scott my mom, grandad and cousins send you their blessings, AJ I think they did some kind of Lithuanian curse in your direction or else they may have been sneezing, who can tell....
Well no big upsets.. Mich, Neb, Clemson, Miami and USC all got it together and won. Penn state in a battle at Iowa but I think they will win. Georgia jumped on MSU early and is cruising. Oklahoma also got a slow start but is in control now over Baylor. Based on what I have seen today it looks like Alabama is the class of college football at this point.
 The two most improved programs that I saw yesterday were Purdue and California... There is some bad blood going on here and it will continue. Cal's new head coach, Justin Wilcox, was an assistant at USC along with the Trojans head coach, Clay Helton. They didn't like each other, and when Helton got the top job, his first order of business was to fire Wilcox. Two years later, Wilcox now has the Cal job and he's sitting on a sleeping giant. NoCal has a larger population than most states; it's the richest part of the state; and they're football crazy up there. Recruiting will be just fine going forward, and the Golden Bears looked great on both offense and defense. Watch for Berkeley to become a top program with this guy Wilcox running the show. Purdue also looked like a different team from anything we've seen in recent years. They appeared to be improved and well-coached in all areas and almost pulled off the upset. I thought they were hosed by the refs on so many calls that I lost count, but one-sided officiating aside, Purdue is back and the future looks bright...
Picture on top was taken when Bret was named head coach of Wisconsin. He really needs to adopt some serious lifestyle changes for the sake of his health.
Bob, totally agree. I had taken to calling him "Fat Brett" in the last few years, but he's even BIGGER now. Definitely needs to slim a bit with the stress of his job.
