I don't know who was feeding him the line that he was a top ten draft pick and that he should leave school now, but I think it's clear they were on crack. Being big and athletic isn't enough... especially when you're the #3 post man on your college team! I'm sad for both the kid, and the Aggies. He could have helped us, and more development certainly could have raised him above the 35th pick...
Another year like last year and he wouldn't have even been a 2nd round choice. That was his real problem. They rolled the dice that somebody would take him in the 1st round and he'd have a guaranteed contract with 7 figures. But no doubt for his personal and basketball development he would have been better off staying 4 years at A&M and then take his chances.
