Saddle up boys, we've got the Greatest Team ever assembled!! Davis Love III's comment on that is locker room material for Euro's. Of course Johnny Miller already gave them some when he questioned all the new guys who've never played in a Ryder Cup on the European team. We did win our 5th straight Jr. Ryder Cup, which the teams are interestingly composed of boys and girls. While I doubt if the Tour has any interest in another big international team competition, it would be interesting to see a combined Men/Women team competition. http://www.rydercup.com/
Phil threw out some criticism of Hal Sutton on his paring of himself with Tiger Woods in 2004...which turned out to be a disaster. It was all over the ball they play. Now I play just about any ball that is on sale and don't see any difference in my game. I wonder what it is about my game!! http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/golf/ryder/2016/09/28/phil-mickelson-hal-sutton-tom-watson-ryder-cup-failure/91215814/
http://www.golf.com/extra-spin/ryder-cup-danny-willetts-brother-calls-us-golfers-classless-bastards So Danny Willets brother Pete doesn't think much of TeamUSA and it's fans!
Well, so much for not having locker room material. A response; http://www.golf.com/extra-spin/danny-willetts-brother-letter-americas-fat-dumb-golf-fans
I"d love to spend the whole day watching the matches but I've got my Water Buffalo's water aerobics in the morning and my golf league in the afternoon. I'm recording it but it seems like I had a lot more time to watch the Ryder Cup when I was "working." Lots of folks think that the American team has a big advantage based on experience. But when you think of it, just how big an edge is the experience of getting your butts beat so often? My daughter Meg has been up in Minn. since Sun. since she's working the event. She was really pissed at the American golf fans when the matches were in Chicago. She'd probably agree with Willett.
Because when I think golf, I think mobs! :? I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in modifying Gipper's excuse: I have different uninteresting things I'd rather do.
So Hal Sutton reminded everybody that 2 weeks before the 2004 Ryder Cup that Phil Changed Clubs and Ball...he failed to mention that when criticising Sutton for putting him with Tiger. I wonder he left out that part of why he had a bad Cup performance.
Fan Heckles Team Europe About A Missing Putt, Fan Gets Pulled Outta The Crowd To Putt It Himself, He Drills It http://www.barstoolsports.com/iowa/fan-heckles-team-europe-about-a-missing-putt-fan-gets-pulled-outta-the-crowd-to-putt-it-himself-he-drills-it/?utm_campaign=SocialflowFB&utm_source=BarstoolFB&utm_medium=Socialflow
Hell he should have drilled after watching those guys miss it, they gave him the read...it's the second golfer syndrome!!
That's right. Phil claims he had to get used to Tiger's Nike ball but he had just changed to Callaway woods. Persistent rumor was that Callaway had agreed to pay off 5+ million in Vegas debts Phil had in compensation.
Patrick Reed the Ryder Cup Hero! Phil a great Cup performance and the last minute addition in Ryan Moore comes from behind to win the clinching point. Dominant performance by the USA today. Congrats to Davis Love III, glad to see him be the winning Captain.
Props to Rickie Fowler who took down Justin Rose who was a strong Euro. Looks like Thomas Pieters will be a thorn in the American side for quite a while. The US team without Furyk, Watson, and Bradley seemed to have a lot more fight in them.
