This is so real that it's not even funny... although this ad is hilarious. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nvyknw4VClE
That is pretty funny...so what happens when a 'bama fan not knowing the other guy is an Auburn fan...raises his glass and goes "roll tide" to the Auburn fan? Fight ensues?
Corey, When you try to tell them what college football means to people down here they just don't understand. Roll Tide!
Not a fight usually. Those Auburn fans are pretty witty. They usually reply with a quick "oh yeah! well f@$# you, you stupid Bammer! or some really funny comeback like that.
Hey Corey, this is a big time thread shift...but... There was a discussion over on NDNation of bats and kids baseball...seems as now days in many leagues the kid has to bring his own bat..back when I sat on the bench in Little League and Pony League the coach had a bat bag with 5 or 10 bats and that lasted all season. Now each kid has to have his own? Also there was some talk about illegal things with bats called "bat rolling" what the hell is "bat rolling"???? T.
Terry, Corey will answer, but I can confirm that my two grandsons who play on traveling teams bring their own bats. The grandson who played in organized Little League this past summer at age 9 used team bats. I'm guessing the bring-your-own-bat requirement has to do with the extraordinarily high cost of the bats and, as the kids grow older, the desire for a so-called custom fit re: length, grip, weight, etc.. Youth baseball is a different world today from when we were growing up. I haven't heard of bat rolling. I'll ask my son-in-law.
Terry, Bat rolling is a process of wearing down, breaking down or 'rolling off' the resin, poxy and glue that is used to deaden the composite bats kids use today. The reason for tearing off that finish is that it creates large areas of flexibility in the sweet spot of the bat, which in turn creates a whiplash effect when the ball hits the bat... basically, it increases (sometimes greatly) the velocity of the ball off the bat. It's bush league.
fyi.. if any player of mine got injured and i suspected that someone rolled a bat, that kid would have a fantastic on base percentage for the rest of his career... and an awful lot of bruises.
