We spent our first day here. We did go to the top and came back after lunch. We got some pictures though not as many good ones as we had hoped. We were going to go back to the top for sunset but decided to wait at least one more day to adjust more to the altitude, it is 4,000 feet higher than where we are staying and that's higher than our mountain in North Carolina. Anyway here's some pictures we took today. From our motel into the park Two pictures of the mountains from in the park. Some critters we came across. And last, people take their dogs everywhere. We are between dogs right now so don't have one out here, but by Christmas we should be back in the Poodle business. Tomorrow we are planning on attempting to get to the waterfall, my knee injury has pretty well healed but Jeanne has had two knee replacements since August and just finished rehab on the second one before we left. But we are going to try. The sunset may be tomorrow on later.
Thanks guys, here's a couple more from today Alberta Falls And there is still snow piled up over your head near the top of the mountain. We found this love note carved in the side of one of them. The people who did it had to be exposed to traffic. It's hard to see but there is a name above each figure.
Bill, I envy you, looks like you are having a ball. Who was the gray hair fellow walking the dogs? Don
I have no idea who he is Don, I just marvel sometimes about how people will travel with several dogs, sometimes big ones. We are more into smaller dogs but we've run across people who travel with really big dogs.
while you're looking at snow covered mountains, I'm here baking in the dessert. Car thermometer said 102 today. So hot we only played 27 holes. Boy, my game sucks.
I certainly know a couple who travels with a medium sized bird. However I don't think I would see you and/or Cindy walking Noel thorough my parking lot. Gipper, 102 degrees and you only played 27 holes? Geez man if it was 102 degrees I would probably have problems making it from the car to the clubhouse! I didn't get any great mountain shots today but late in the day we took a walk around a lake and as we were leaving came across four mallard ducks. Here's two of them swimming. They were swimming away after all four of them were going down in the lake either fishing or eating off the bottom, I couldn't tell for sure. I love this picture.
:? ummmmmmmm? Gipper what desert are you in Arizona or Ca ? yesterday we clean out Joco's class room moving up in the wold they are giving him a real class room not a trailer next year ... it started out wam and beautiful ended up with thunder storms and wind ,,, my favorite kind of weather... not quite like Texas but close
I had to post one final picture from Rocky Mountain National Park. All week we have tried to get a sunset from the visitors center on top of the mountain, in fact from anywhere. But afternoon rainstorms left to much cloud cover. We had actually given up. But it was pretty sunny getting near sunset so I rushed up the mountain, it had obviously rained pretty hard and if I had known that I would have probably not gone. But I did and got this picture.
Wow just some spectacular photos Bill. Do you think maybe those ducks could sense you were a gator and were trying to hide from you?
That's a thought Terry. It might also explain why a couple of them flew over our head close enough that I felt a rush of air. Well can't hang around this morning it's going ot be a long day going to Yellowstone.
