    Coached at Texas Tech for a long time, had some good teams. He bridged the SWC to B12 years. Never won a conference Championship, but did finish 2nd a bunch of times....there was a button I think at one time that said I like Spike or something like that.

    His son is Sonny Dykes who coached at La.Tech and CAL.
