Back from a business trip to Cleveland and Atlanta and man was it nice to debate college sports with fans of other teams including Ohio State, Tenn, Ga and Kentucky without anyone getting overly sensitive...challenging me....or resorting to name calling. All of those fans of course are leery of Florida and none particularly care for Florida that's to be sure but I had great bar conversations with some huge Buckeye fans about the NC game and with Kentucky BB fans at Jocks and Jills by the Dome in Atlanta who were there on Wed. night because UK played on Thurs. in the SEC Tourney. Also had some pretty good "debates" if you will with Ga and Tenn fans in Atlanta and no one got hurt and it was all in good spirits and no one gave any ground either. Refreshing.....
I'm sure that all of us are (or should be) aware that it's much easier to have a cordial debate about just about anything in the face to face mode than it is to debate something in a bulletin board forum like this. Emoticons nonwithstanding there tends to be less give and take and more "taking of offense" than intended. I'm sure that there are a lot of guys on this board that you could have a great conversation with, maybe even about politics. I have talked with folks who have met you and am told that you are a great guy...I do not doubt that for a second. Your initial post in this thread implies that the lack of give and take is soley due to the rest of us blockheads...mebbe so...but perhaps there is room for a little sharing of blame here. I read a lot of forums and post in very few of them because of the lack of civility. This board is a lot more cordial and polite than most, even in our disagreements...and we have the moderators to thank for a lot of that, even though we all may not agree with their decisions each time. Where in the hell did you find an OSU fan in Cleveland...those guys hate us!
Talked to one Stu at Chili's in N. Olmsted but the best convo I had with an OSU guy was with an auto show person from Cleveland who was sitting at the bar in Atlanta. He was every bit the fan you guys are but I could bounce things off of him without getting chewed up like raw meat which happens all too often here. ...and thanks for the kind words Stu.
Good one George. I dangle a concept, a supposition or a ponderous thought and the SBers suck the blood out of it to be sure.

Terry Try Oravive for sensitive teeth!!! Or, if you experience extreme hypersensitivity, ask your dentists for SootheRx.
MCG, What did he think about your theory that all referees (and fans and teams and coaches) in the SEC hated UF? How about the theory that all of the SEC referees had personal ties to the UF opponent of the week? My experience has been that a 30 minute bar conversation is much more superficial (and cordial) than a running discourse over several years.
Interesting KP that I asked the Tenn fan if UF had supplanted Alabama as the most "hated" vols opponent and the answer was yes without question. UF is the villian of the SEC and has been since the Spurrier days. Georgia fans with good reason feel even stronger about this. I would guess not so though for Bama and Auburn who have each other to get most fired up for.
