Gators get another Junior College commit, Carl Moore wider receiver, he's 6' 4" 220. Supposed to be pretty good.

That makes 14 for the Gators now. It looks like with some transfers we will be signing 20 - 24.

Also it looks like 6 or so early entries.

All in all I'm still very optimistic the Gators land a top 5-10 class.

How about the rest of you?

We're still hanging in there with the #1 class and 21 guys. We have some hope for a 3 or so more guys who if they are the ones I am hoping for then I doubt if anybody can get the #1 ranking away from us. If we end up with the 21 we have then I think a fast closing USC can take #1 again.

Terry, your class looks great and when I go to Scout I don't see any soft verbals for Notre Dame.

On the other hand half of Miami's class is now listed as soft verbal. I'm starting to think the Canes may have sprung a leak.

    S. Cal seems to be right at the top of the list every year.

Ron Zook at Illinois seems to be doing a great job also. Leaving Florida and going to Illinois may have been the best thing that could have happened to him.

Alabama is in the top 10 and could move up a little with a couple of 5 stars that are leaning our way. Julio Jones a five star wr out of Foley Alabama is a real Alabama leaner who has not committed to anyone yet. We have 23 verbals so far.

    kp,

Please keep us informed on Alabama's progress. I don't really follow recruiting outside of Notre Dame and the local schools, but I'm curious to see if Saban can recruit Bama out of the wilderness. I think he will...

<t>Julio Jones is this year's #1 recruit. The kid is pretty awesome. Some are concerned that Spain Park's defense (a defense coached by my friend and former roommate) shut down Jones.<br/>

There's a lot of speculation that he will wind up at Florida State, and people here are shocked that one of his finalists is Texas Tech.</t>

If Saban can hold on to the committs he has, it will be a very good year. OL's, DL's and WR's mainly. Offensive line, I think is our concern. I would love to get Jones but I am one of those guys that think that defense wins championships so if Saban can load up on 4 and 5 stars on that side of the line I would be happy. We do have a 4 star qb (Star Jackson) committed so things are looking good. We will see, Saban has not really impressed me so far. He is rude and seems very defensive in his dealings with the press and he has not demonstrated any great superiority on the sidelines so I hope he recruit like a son of gun. :?
