The Huskers played a record 8 home games that season and were blown away 62-36 by Colorado in their previous game. That same Colorado team was easily destroyed 38-16 in the Fiesta Bowl by the real best team of 2001, the Oregon Ducks. BTW- going into the bowl games that year, Oregon (Champion of the Pac10) was ranked #2 and Colorado (Champion of the Big 12) was ranked #3.
