Sorry Little Gonz, I'm just not buying any of this. The 2001 Miami Canes weren't even the best team in the year 2001. So what if they beat Nebraska that year? The Huskers played a record 8 home games that season and were blown away 62-36 by Colorado in their previous game. That same Colorado team was easily destroyed 38-16 in the Fiesta Bowl by the real best team of 2001, the Oregon Ducks.

BTW- going into the bowl games that year, Oregon (Champion of the Pac10) was ranked #2 and Colorado (Champion of the Big 12) was ranked #3. Who the heck was Miami playing for a "national championship?"

    So JOCOMEISTER SAYS

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Truth is Lil G....that the PAC 10 has been a lousy conference for a long time.....with the single exception being USC.

And the number of Cane players from that team that went first round in the NFL is unequalled by any other college team in history....and those first rounders are still stars today.

The real truth is, the PAC 10 has more players in the NFL than any other conference, and they're the smallest conference. Think about it.

AJ don't forget that the LSU QB was the BackUP QB, not the starter who was injured for the Bowl game. It might have hit 70 with the starter in there. :)

Hey Gondola, I think Jr. needs to up his Math credits. Like Father, Like Son.

No snugglenuts, I don't. I do remember this one however:

    Miami 37
    Nebraska 14
    Jan. 3, 2002,
    Rose Bowl, Pasadena, CA

I also remember the Crimicanes WR's and how the would pull the NU defender down by their Jersey when they made their cuts.
