I have to give this a topic of it's own. Randy Shannon, Cane Coach, says don't come to our game go to Gators - Dawgs. Priceless. Randy Shannon Says Go See UF - UGA
I think both coaches will work to make sure that the only thing going on is the game. I doubt Richt will want to make another "emotional" situation. He has his team ready as we can see by their stomping of LSU in Baton Rouge, that's better than any endzone dance. Gators don't need any pumping up either, they are a team with a mission and I can't see Urban allowing any retaliation to figure into this game other than whipping their Dawgy asses good and fair on the field.
I agree with you Terry. Both these teams have a long history with each other. Georgia beat us during the 70 and 80's with Dooley as coach, the Gators have dominated the 90's and 2000's to an even greater degree. Georgia still has the lead in the series, but if you look at since 1950 I believe the Gators would lead. The point is that from 1910 or so until the 1940's it was pretty one sided. I do expect both coaches to keep it under control. I don't know which team has the emotional edge.
I guess people remember short term better than mid term... UF DID stomp LSU....Georgia gave up 500 yards of offense and 38 points..
BTW I'm picking the Gators. I think Meyer is a better coach than Richt, who is a good coach but right now Meyer just has "IT", and he has better talent on both sides of the ball.
Thanks Terry, Here's another article by Tony Barnhart of the AJC, trying to stir the pot. Here's hoping Meyer continues not to bite. Trying To Stir The Pot
After watching how Miami has played this year with their youngsters I pretty much agree with Shannon that its a lot safer bet to go watch the Dawgs & Gators then watch Miami struggle up and down the field... :? Honestly though this is one game I have been waiting for after what happened last year. RC
Flashback to last year.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7X8aoBaqDQ&feature=related Ya gotta love college football rivalry's...
Be careful Bill and don't let some drunk celebrant at the worlds largest outdoor cocktail party trip or shove you to the ground!!
I'll try to be careful Terry. That falling to the ground is something that is on my mind since my accident.
