    :?

Minnie Minoso was one of the greatest players of all-time. I had just assumed that he had entered the Hall of Fame many years ago. Instead, I found out today that he died waiting to enter. Are they kidding?

My first MLB game was a White Sox game at Comiskey Park when I was in Little League. We had 4 teams in our league in a little suburb west of Chicago. The coaches treated all the players to the game. Minnie Minoso became my favorite White Sox player, and I followed them, although I never became a fan because Ernie Banks played on the other side of town. I remember Nellie Fox, Billy Pierce, Jungle Jim Rivera, and others. They were a very good team during the 50s.

I watched him play during his 2nd stint with the Tribe in 58 and 59. I was a kid and don't remember much but those were two of his best years. He was an All Star and won the Golden Glove in 59.

Looking through his accomplishments it's amazing that he's not in the hall.

Sid sat right behind Arnold Rothstein at the White Sox v Reds series in 1919.

Shoeless Joe got a bum rap. He was wearing shoes in every game I saw.

I remember him well and agree he should be in the Hall of Fame.

    RIP Minnie.
