One of the true characters of the game. Probably more famous for his broadcasting life than his HOF career which included a multitude of WS rings. If he saw a flash of lightening during a game he was calling he would get up and go home.... no matter what inning it was! I used to see him at a diner in Union, NJ when I worked in that area almost every moring when we stopped in for coffee. Last time I saw him in person was at a restaurant at the Shore in the mid 90's. He was there with his wife and I was there with my family and we were all waiting to be seated. I acknowledged him and he started talking to my kids about LL and gave them a "Holy Cow!" to boot. His biggest pet peeve? The inability of the modern player to effectively bunt. God Bless You, Scooter.
