Today from an article in the Columbus Dispatch: He refers to nasty emails from fans after the loss to USC. "Honestly, the thing when I read some of them is I feel terrible for them because there's no way they're happy," Tressel said at his weekly media luncheon today. "They've got to be some of the most unhappy people in the world, and I feel bad because we just made them less happy. "And I hate to be a part of making someone less happy. I mean, they're already miserable and to make them less happy, I feel bad." At least coach as a sense of humor! Don
Contrary to popular opinion medical personnel don't learn latin, they learn a few latin words that are used in prescriptions and various other things (anatomy) but hardly enough to read or translate latin phrases. things like hs (hora somini) means at bedtime on a Rx. But I just write take 1 tablet at bed time to be clear, instead of 1 tab hs, but that's just me. Decubitius is a latin term but I doubt if any body who see's a ucler on a bed ridden patient and automatically says the patient has a decubitius ulcer thinks of decubitus as being a latin term. It's just the term they were taught in school.
Pretty interesting that given JT's record of achievment at Ohio State that he would be under fire right now, but that's the nature of the beast. Not what you did in the past but what have you done for me recently. I saw this article on ESPN> Tressel under fire
Looks like he's getting the "signature wins" ********. Interesting discussion on ESPN radio with Lou Holts. He equated OSU's signing Pryor to ND's signing Pawlus. Both QBs were really not suited for the type of offenses that the schools traditionally ran. Trying to turn a non running QB into an option QB causes as many problems as trying to run a power running offense with a QB whose main strength is running.
Gipper, I have been experiencing similiar thoughts, but am not ready to give up the ship at this point. The USC linebackers had him covered on every play, in case he decided to run with the ball. Don
He may be falling into the same trap that Texas fell into with Vince Young. If you remember Texas was a Pro Set offense with Chris Simms and Major Applewhite. They were drop back style QB's, we used a lot of I-Formation and QB's were in the Shotgun only on 3rd and long. That's the offense that was run when Vince was a true freshman, he didn't play and was redshirting. The next year they started a Sr. (can't think of his name) who'd been patiently waiting behind Simms and were going to spot play Vince. He had some moments but mostly they were when he just dropped back and took off, his passing motion was awful. Like a lot of those types of QB's he was better when he threw long than short passes that required greater accuracy and timing. As a RS Soph they started the same and then after a big comeback win where Vince did it pretty much on his own with some spectacular runs they finally decided to just let Vince do his thing put him in the shotgun and from mid point of his RS Soph year through his RS Jr year (2005 ) he was a one man gang. Might be the same problem at Ohio State with Pryor....or then again maybe not!
He has shown the ability to tweak the offense to better suit the skills of his personnel in the past.....the offense that Troy Smith led was hardly a power running game and seemed to suit his skills just fine.....short memories are the order of the day in college football. Same old, same old....hello Columbus.
Hindsight would say to try the field goal...I don't have a huge problem with what his thinking was... I DO think he should have kicked the field goal in the Navy game, and so does he based on his statements.
