I read in today's newspaper that Jerry Brown is leading in the polls. If I had read that the Vatican was intending to canonize Sid Vicious, I would not have been more stunned than I was when reading this. I guess if he wins, that will offer irrefutable proof against the argument that democracy is the best form of government. At least during the times of kings and emperors, leaders of great ability would periodically reign and improve the lives of all. I realize that, sometimes, things turned out bad and someone like Caligula would hop on the throne and immediately partake in the wholesale slaughter of innocents. But at least people who lived in the era of kings and emperors had some chance, maybe small, but at least some small chance of being governed by someone of great competence.
8) Governor Moonbeam has a good chance to pull this off, because most people here don't give a damn and the rest don't speak English. In most states, a fellow who had already failed as a mayor, Attorney General and governor twice would be running out of places to hide, but here in the land of the golden poppies fools like him are celebrated. A demonstrated lack of ability; questionable ethics; bacchanalian homosexual lifestyle; and embecilic left-wing world view mark him as a titan in the politics of the California Democratic Party. That's usually good enough to get elected here. My union controls most of this state, while the Teamsters and the prison guards control the rest. Nobody else really wants the job, except billionaire Meg Whitman, and the very fact that she wants it arouses suspicion. Its like when Groucho proclaimed that he would never lower himself to join any club which would have him as a member. Why does she want that job? What's she up to? Will she mess with our astronomical pensions and gravy-day work schedules? Most Californicos would rather just keep the current corrupt system. Its profitable for those of us who still have a job, and as I said, the rest don't speak English anyway, so we will simply continue to tax them, for our benefit, until their eyes bleed... ...........I Can See For Miles......JO'Co
