Silly rabbit....if these mega corporations just had "certainty" about the top executive tax rates they would get off their ass and start hiring out of work Americans.....right?

Do you have any idea what the cost to get someone trained up and ready to be productive is? Until the uncertainty is elevated, you will not see an upswing in hiring. Most companies have started bringing in contractors instead of regular full time employees. That gives them a more liquid work force that can change with upswings and downturns.

    Duh...
The uncertainty is over how much each new employee will cost them, because of Obamacare and a blizzard of new regulations. Furthermore, most of the large corporations that I own stock in, like Dupont, John Deer and Peabody Energy make most of their profits overseas. They can't bring it home to invest, because Uncle Obama will grab 35% of it...

And yet Tom....if the fat cats at the executive level could just gain a little certainty about their own personal tax situations they would develop a devil-may-care attitude about hiring employees they don't really need in lieu of farming out those minimum wage jobs to India at 1/4 of the price.

Yep.... a little tax certainty is all that's needed.

To hell with those business principles of need based on demand and of hiring enabling growth and maintaining low employee costs by outsourcing.

It's all about tax certainty.....or so I'm told.....

Please note that corporate taxes are much lower in China, India and Brazil which are all kicking our arses...

And their wage scales and standards of living for the average citizen render us non-competitive in every instance.

Is that where we are headed.....regression not recession?

There is a reality in America that no one wants to acknowledge.
