Why doesn't the president wave his magic wand and bring the price back down? Or is he conspiring with his big oil cronies to get the price up? Or could it be Bush's fault?
Think about it Gip.....now that President Bush has moved back to Texas, it's much easier for him and he has more time on his hands to control prices and conspire with his Exxon buddies and other big oil interests.....
I thought I remembered Obama not being very concerned about high gas prices because it brought in fuel taxes that he could use to develope alternative fuels or something like that.
Obama must be in bed with Big Oil. What else could explain these staggering price increases at the pump in the face of decreased demand? I think Charlie Rangel should start an investigation.....
I'd be curious to see if MCG feels Obama can or should control the price of gas. He's always maintained it's a necessity that the govt shouldn't allow to get too expensive.
Actually, I think that the Obama administration is forcing the price of gas up to force the American car buyer to buy the piss ant roller skates that they want us all to drive. Their ******** excuse is of course to "lessen our dependence on foreign oil. Of course they obstruct the development of our domestic supply and there doesn't seem to be any new nuclear plants being built. Could it be that they really have another agenda?
I wouldn't be surprised if Obama is in cahoots with Halliburton as well. He DID get rid of Halliburton, didn't he? Afterall, Dick Cheney owner their stock and Obama & Co hate Cheney so I figured he would dump them like yesterday.
You know I wouldn't want Obama's administration to exercise any socialist agenda by controlling the price of gas....right?
Hell, why not?...tax it more... They're so damn worried about whether you drive a Yugo or a Suburban that they forget that the price of about every commodity and product is affected by fuel prices. Actually a gradual price increase would probably be a good thing for a lot of reasons that I won't get into...but this schizophrenic yo-yo pricing is ridiculous.
I was wondering when one of you guys were going to bring this up Here in the Shoals area, gasw jumped almost 25 cents in one day.. It jumped 40 cents over 10 days. It seems to have settled a bit, but the timing couldn't be worse for me. As some/most of you may know, Carson lives an hour away from me.. and that's a straight hour drive without traffic, two hours round trip. The fall in gas made it easier for me to see my son and do more things. Now we're in that time of year in which he has school awards and baseball games nearly every day. Today alone I will be driving out there twice. Once for his academic awards presentation (which I just returned from) and then for his baseball game at 7.. That is 4 hours of driving in one day.. The price increase coincided perfectly with the need for me to be there more often. Obama can go eff himself. Didn't I read something about in the spring/summer there was a plan to go to a 'greener' gas that burns cleaner but would be more expensive? Perhaps that is what is going on? Either way, this is just killing me. I'll be making a total of 9 trips out there in a 5 day span.. I was out there last night, and the night before that. This is just brutal.
I've given up complaining. I know that if I do I'll just get a reply from BT telling me that it's only the free market economy at work. He wears me down. Seriously, I'm driving at a rate of 30,000+ miles per year. Today for the first time in quite a while I went over $40 for a fillup. Such is life. -sigh-
