Coaches poll is out 1. Oklahoma 1482 points 2. Florida 1481 points 3. Texas 1408 points Coaches Poll Sagrin has Oklahoma, Texas, Texas Tech and Florida in that order. Which also was a gain for the Gators. All in all I am very optimistic.
UF was already #2 in the Harris....behind Bama. Now of course UF will be a solid #1 in the Harris and only a slim point behind being #1 in the Coaches. Done deal....
Corey, I'm no longer worried. But I did have some concerns until this poll came out. I had concern because of the computer polls which have not been kind to us. Here's a couple of links that show why it was not a done deal. However unless the Harris poll goes south or the computers treat us worse than they have been it is a done deal now. We gained more than Tellshow said we had to gain in the Coaches Poll, so my comfort level has improved. Tellshow BCS Analysis Fan Blog BCS Analysis
It is a big question mark for me. Right now I am thinking Florida. Reason being is this.. I know what I am getting out of UF in terms of offense and defense. I think UF can be run on right up the gut, but are often bailed out by that fantastic MLB. they play a lot of press coverage, and if they do that against OU, they are going to get torched. Look for UF to switch up to some zone and 2-deep robber coverage to lure Bradford into some mistakes. If they try to man up against OU, this game will be a 7 hour track meet. My problem with OU is.. I know what I am getting out of their offense, but I just think their D is a giant mystery to me. They have incredible athletes on that side of the ball. They have one of the game's great defensive minds in Stoops running the show.. Yet better offenses that can throw pile up points on them. I don't like that uncertain element so UF gets the nod from me right now. In another subject, Dave obviously picked up on my not so veiled comment that Tebow can't pass.. that isn't the whole picture. He throws a decent deep ball, but they are usually to wide open WRs running GOs, out-N-ups or H-backs running wheel routes... He'll throw one pretty ball underneath and then throw up 2 that look like they were shot out of a cannon (and that isn't a good cannon)... that won't cut it in the NFL but it is more than doable in the NCAA... And I think it will be enough in the title game.
Thanks Corey, that is a well thought out post. I have to admit that the Oklahoma offense scares me big time. Bradford is amazing.
