If I was Cal, I'd be pissed. They finished 9-4, but unranked in the AP. They wound up 25th in the USAT poll. In both, they were behind Michigan State (who they beat). Cal's one 'bad' loss this year was to Maryland... but Cal's losses all came to teams who won their bowl games. I mean, #1 I guess is the only one that really counts....but after that, you gotta wonder what they are thinking. As Gip mentioned, OU winds up behind Texas... how? Not that I don't agree, but had they flipped that a month ago, it would have been Texas (who beat OU) playing for the title instead of OU... Seems a bit late to be correcting injustices.. I am a little surprised Iowa and West Virginia climbed into the polls.
I don't get BYU being ranked in the Top 25. They beat only one D1 team that had a winning record during the regular season - Air Force. Their ranking must have something to do with off-the-field considerations. 8)
