The Jiffmister has spoken....the Sox season is now officially ovah. Meanwhile, the Cards are now only 1.5 games behind (Told ya Doc), in what is arguably the toughest division in MLB.
Did you see where the Dodgers lost their starting catcher for excessive celebration after former Red Sox pitcher Josh Beckett threw a no hitter. I've seen it a couple of times in football, don't remember it in baseball though.
I seem to recall another player in the past couple of years having the same thing happen. Can't remember who or what team, though.
You know when they do those "dog" piles after a big win in the playoffs or WS. I am always surprised that somebody at the bottom of the pile doesn't get hurt.
Here's the one I was thinking of. It happened in 2010: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/662721-the-50-dumbest-injuries-in-sports-history/page/7 I also saw that Max Sherzer injured his ankle in 2012 during the on-field celebration of the Tigers' division-clinching win, but he only missed 1-2 starts. Morales missed the entire season.
Dang I thought for sure they were going to have to send for Joel so the Sox would have a coach to finish the game.
 I was standing by my cell.ready for the call..ready to drive up I-95! Amazing..6 regulars now on DL... The farm has been drained...and the wins keep coming! Just checked with Yogi...It aint ovah till its ovah he tells me!!
Speaking of Catchers.....The best Catcher in the bizz, Yadi is out for about 12 weeks...surgery to his right thumb.....the Cards responded by a 9-1 loss to the Bucs, along with a minor league effort by the backup catcher...... Cardinal Nation is collectively holding their breath....
Anybody but me notice that Joel went back to college and got his degree from the University of Notre Dame...that's what it says on his Facebook!!
Re: Molina. It shows that you never know when the injury bug is going to strike. He was sliding feet first and planting his hand when it happened. How many times in his career has he slid into a base? You just never know.
